I looked around at the new international shipping options. I see no way to break it down between shipping to Canada and shipping to other countries. There is quite a bit of difference in the cost of shipping to Canada and shipping to the UK.
I can't just select "International shipping" with 2 different amounts. The international buyers will ALL be opting for the lowest amount (Canadian).
Prior to these enhancements, I would type in Canadian Global Priority shipping $8.00
International Global Priority $10.00
So, after looking at my options, I left the shipping options as I had them prior to the enhancements. (see paragraph above).
Well, guess what? I had a Canadian customer today that tried to checkout and it said that I didn't offer international shipping.
Am I missing something? How can I differentiate between Canadian International and other countries?

Don't worry about it because they are going to get the US rates no matter how you set it up.
Maybe i can send an invoice to Vendio for all of times that I sell something and they get the wrong shipping.
I just sold an item to a guy in FRANCE (is that the US???) and he paid the US shipping rate.
I really am sick of this. I am spending too much time covering my back I have not listed an item yet this week.
maybe I will get thrown off next week when I don't have any money in my account because I am not selling anthing to put money in there

Hello mstwostepin,
Where previously your buyers, regardless of where they were from, could pick from any of the shipping options you listed, now your buyers that are not from the US will only see what you place into the International area.
There are a total of 3 competely blank shipping carriers avaialble in the international section, as well as 3 more preformatted carriers.
If you have a different rate that you charge for your UK customers than you do your Canada customers, you will want to put them into separate fields - the same as you would in the old system.

Thank you for your response.
If I put $8.00 International shipping
and
$10.00 International shipping
Which would you choose? If you were in the UK, would you automatically assume that the $10.00 couldn't possibly apply to you? Then select $8.00 shipping (which is meant, but not stated) for Canada.
I think that it's best for me to disable Vendio checkout until all of the *kinks* are worked out.
You could define the shipping field as "Shipping Canada" and "Shipping UK" so that your customers know which one to choose. The shipping options are actually more flexible now than before - I'm not sure why you are having more trouble now than you were before. At least now your domestic customers won't see the international shipping options.
I checked your account and it doesn't even look like you've enabled international shipping. You have to check the "Offer international shipping" box in the shipping fields section in Global Preferences.
Go ahead and turn it back on, move your two shipping options down into the international section (be sure to indicate which is for Canada and otherwise) and you should be fine.
If someone was unable to checkout and they were international, that particular item simply didnt have the international options setup on it yet.

Can we select "international shipping" to show in the checkout, but without an amount entered?
How can one tell in advance how much to enter if we don't know which country the bidder will be from? This is just silly!
I've had 3 bidders last week e-mail me upset because they couldn't enter the amount in vendio checkout that I'd e-mailed to them for international shipping. I had to go into Paypal and send a seperate money request to the bidder! What a pain!
I always e-mail International bidders and tell them to ignore the Vendio amount, just put in what I've calculated. No problem up till now, but now there's a whole lot of e-mails having to fly back and forth.
I tried writing "to be calculated" in one of the International boxes when I just scheduled an auction this evening, and got an "invalid field" message because I didn't enter a dollar amount!
Is one really supposed to go to the USPS site to find the cost for each item for shipping to each and every country I ship to, before launching every auction?

What you are suggesting does NOT work correctly with ebay. If I enter say "Airmail-Canada" with flat rate $5, and enter "Airmail-Europe" with flat rate $10 in the open fields under international shipping, those show up fine in our listing description. But they do NOT show up fine in the ebay shipping fields, which are the ones that ebay shoppers are seeing when they decide what to bid on, etc. If I do the above with separate for Canada and Europe, in the ebay shipping fields it does not show them separate. Ebay shows the CANADA rate/amount, then ALL the international countries listed for that amount which is WRONG! Ebay's shipping fields should match what is included in the s/h section of listing description, or if that is not possible, then the ebay international amts should be left off completed so the shopper at least looks at description, instead of assuming they'll be getting the low rate really only intended for Canada. This is NOT working correctly!

Hi Critterclub,
"Ebay shows the CANADA rate/amount, then ALL the international countries listed for that amount which is WRONG!"
Can you give us an example of a live, unedited listing that shows this?
Regarding shipping carriers that show on eBay -- in the transition guide on page 12, you will find more answers. Basically, eBay will allow you to feature only fixed or calculated rates. Vendio will send the first 3 to eBay to be displayed. If what you are specifying is not a carrier supported on eBay, then it won't get sent over. Hence if you are typing in something that is not on eBay then it's not going to show so you might want to double check with eBay and find out exactly what international shipping carriers they support, so you can specify them in your global preferences.
Uglimouse -- Vendio does not offer the option for buyers to enter in a shipping amount. We do not yet support calculated UPS or USPS international shipping so if you want to do exact shipping for your international customers, you can put some text in your WBNs stating that international customers must send you their shipping information so that you can send a customized invoice to them.
