Can't seem to get photos to upload to Vendio. Is anyone else having these problems? First batch of photos uploaded fine, but now it seems to be "stuck". No progress. No uploads. Just me out there with this issue???

Hi margar- I have this problem almost everytime I use vendio. I'm not a volume seller, and usually (try and!) upload only about 7-10 images each time, not using any rapid program etc.

After endless Q&A back and forth with the staff here, and bless 'em for responding each time, I've found that if I click on "upload more", even when the first few are "stuck", the first batch miraculously goes through!!
Repeat Step 1....

It's a pain, and slow, and laborious; but at least the images get loaded...eventually!

Right now, I'm experiencing the same-old-same-old trying to launch my auctions.
I get the usual "cannot find server" ( I have SBC's DSL, so I don't think so), and it won't even save, schedule or refresh or launch them.
Vendio can't give me answers, it appears, but it does seem to be in the evenings, during heavier traffic. Tough you-knows, if that's the only time of day we have to upload images or launch, huh?

the last 2 days I have been having a problem uploading photos. Today is the worst, no matter how many it's not functioning, I have even tried one at a time, and nothing.

eclectic, you could try clicking on the "upload more" green button, on the same page, when the first lot are still stuck, and see if the first lot then come up as "successful".
That's the only way I can do it these days!

I've no idea why this works for me.

Then you do the same with the next lot.
I only dare try a handful at a time this way!

uglimouse: my fix has been to open 2 different windows and upload the same pictures on both, that seems to work but a dumb as dirt way to do things

" dumb as dirt way..."
You dont say!
I haven't tried that one yet, thanks for the tip!

To launch, save or schedule auctions these days, I have to leave the site, then return and find them in pending. If I try and retrieve them after the page times out, they get lost in the ether somewhere!

Maybe I should just set up a lemonade stand and try and unload some of my stuff right from there!

if rumor has it right and we will be getting a FREE LISTING DAY, very soon, we are screwed between the hosting and the launching delay.

If we are all having the same problem with this - then obviously this is an "issue" that needs to be addressed by Vendio customer service.

QUESTION: Where is Customer Service on this issue????? PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.....

That really stinks that there is this "issue" going on with uploading pictures and now a possible free listing day. Not good!!! What a mess that will be!

Hello,

If you are having trouble uploading your images, please check the following:

1. Make sure your images are not too large in kilobytes - occasionally, images that are over 50 kb in size will cause your connection to time out.

2. Upload only one image at a time.

3. Close all unnecessary open applications, and disable any resident programs on your computer (including virus-checkers and pop-up blockers) as these use system resources and may interfere with image uploading.

4. Try using an alternate browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.

5. If you are using a proxy server to enter the internet, check the proxy settings in your browser to make sure they are valid.

Please let us know if these solutions are not successful in solving the problem, and let us know how much RAM memory your system has, and which browser and operating system you are using. We have not had any issues that would cause images to hang -- can you let us know how many you upload at a time?

Uglimouse -- how big are your images, in terms of file size? The 'cannot find server' message means there is an issue between your connection and our servers. We have some tests that you can run through, I'm not sure if you've done them before but if you haven't, let me know so I can send you the email with the steps to try the next time this happens to you.

Regards,

Sonya

I am one of the original users that remembers when it was a Free service and service was the keyword. The changes/upgrades have increased our fees and seems to have decreased the service and usability. I remember when users of other hosting services were crying on free listing day because their auctions weren't launching, Vendio not only launched, but, it was on the scheduled time, no delay!!!!! Now, if we are launched 2-3 hours after scheduling on the discounted or free days we are lucky.

Sonya, "Upload only one image at a time." are you kidding, this is not a realistic fix. If different users are having the same problem the problem would seem to be on Vendio's side and not the users.

Hello,

Uploading one at a time generally helps in diagnosing a problem -- this is why we suggest it when we are notified of image uploading issues. It's not intended as a fix for the problem. We are testing this right now since there have been several complaints -- we'll post back and let you know more information.

Regards,

Sonya

Hello,

Our apologies for the inconvenience, as there did appear to be an issue that was keeping certain issues from being able to upload quickly.

Service has now been completely restored for these users and you should be able to upload without issue again.

Regards,
Christopher
