I set my shipping insurance at $1.50, but someone bought my Miffy vhs and added $1.35 insurance at the Vendio check-out. This was a copy of an older item, so I'm thinking it must somehow include a previous insurance cost. If that's it, is there a way, you can re-set all my past auctions, so if I re-use an older auction, it will apply the proper insurance cost? I re-use a lot of my previous auctions and this has only happened a couple of times, so maybe that's not the problem. Please look into this issue and let me know.

Hello toyspast,
This is probably because you are relisting an item that was saved with the old insurance value. We can run a patching tool for you that will apply your global preferences to all items that don't match, so if your global preferences are set up the way you want them to be set up for *all* items, please let us know.
I took a look at your account, and the value in Global preferences for insurance is not a fixed amount. The patcher tool will take the value specified in Global preferences and apply that to all of your items. Right now it's set to (calc) based on carrier rates. If you want us to apply a fixed amount to your items we can do that, but we need you to update your preferences beforehand.

Diana: I'm not sure what you mean. I have $1.50 etc. listed under custom insurance. I have never used the calculated stuff, and when people have been adding insurance to their items through the Vendio check-out, it is applying the $1.50 (with the exception above). Please explain what I need to do. Thanks!
You can override what you have in your global preferences and put something else into the insurance field when you list, but your default settings are currently showing calculate.
Did you want to set a fixed $1.50 for insurance for all items?
If so, go ahead and set that up in your global prefernces, where it currently says 'calc' and then let us know, so we can apply this to everything currently in your account.

Can you see if I have it set correctly now? I still have to beg to differ. I didn't set insurance for each item, and the people that have added insurance to their totals has been coming up as $1.50. There are also two areas in the preferences: there's a global preference and what looks like the same info under "shipping and insurance". Is it necessary for both? Anyway, please let me know if I've set it for custom insurance of $1.50 and the other added amounts, so that you can re-set my past items, so I don't have any further problems.
