I also had another problem with marketplace. Amazon gives you a shipping credit of $1.58 for CDs or $2.03 for other items. When I looked at one of the invoice of Amazon I noticed instead a credit of $-0.41 instead. That would mean PAYING Amazon instead of getting paid!
I emailed them but again, no reply and no fix. I wanted to share this to let everyone be aware of this potential problem.
The reason behind this seems to be that the buyer had free shipping (whatever the reason behind that was). Since they deduct the 41 cents from the normal $1.99 the buyer usually pays, in this case, since there was no shipping charge then I lose $2.00. Not fair I think.

I looked up an item in Amazon's store and they are advertising that if you buy more than $100.00 your shipping is free!

I haven't had the shipping glitch yet but so far only 1/2 of the books that I've sold show up under "Sold" or "recently sold". At least I get the emails and the money is in my account.
I have a question though. I assumed this was like half.com and that only the buyer could leave feedback. On some of my sold items (and they all sold through Marketplace and not zshops) there is a Leave Feedback. I left feedback on some even though it didn't quite make sense to me (Hey I'm new to Amazon) but others I can't leave feedback. So do we or don't we leave feedback? Thanks.

I asked myself the same question about the feedback. The option to leave it is there. I did always leave some feedback for auctions and zShops when the buyer needs to fulfill his/her part by replying to your emails and sending payment.
But with Marketplace, you do not have any contact with your buyer and the payment is already there when you receive the email. I consider it much like half.com and did not leave any feedback yet.

I thought that the ones who got the "leave feedback" link had approached my item through zShop rather than through the link on the marketplace page. Not sure, though. I always leave feedback though.

You are right about this Valerie! I did not realize that some did and some did not have the "Leave Feedback" link. I have 7 out 19 items with the link for my Marketplace items. I guess that would mean they were bought out of zShops. Interesting statistic!

How do you know if you've sold a book through zshops or marketplace? All the emails I get say "Sold! Ship Your Amazon Marketplace Item" but there are some where I can leave feedback.

No official word on this but based on the fact that some have the "Leave your feedbak" link and others don't, I assume the ones with the link were purchased through the zShops pages. I was pleasantly surprised that the Marketplace items were listed on zShops also AND that almost half of my sales came through there!
On the original subject of this thread, I can report that the shipping glitch was corrected by Amazon. They credited my account with the missing $1.99. All ends well with Amazon, as always.
No, I do not have a Pro-Merchant account. When they raised their rate to $40.00, I did not find it profitable anymore. But my zShops storefront is still there.
Now, with Marketplace, I figured that I would need at least 40 items per month to offset the costs and was not sure of the success or failure of selling there. Now, with already 25 items sold in 2 weeks, with only a hundred items listed, I think I will subscribe next month, raise the number of listings and be able to also add zShops items. I might even qualify soon for their Auctions Pro programs, whatever that means...

But my zShops storefront is still there....HUH?
I thought only $40.00 merchants could use z-shops ? I could be wrong but that's what I thought.
Also I've only sold Marketplace Items (although they are in my z-shop) I can't leave any feedback so I assume they are Marketplace sales (clear a mud?) My question is do these Marketplace sales count toward my merchant Amazon pro quota? I think I might have problem making quota if they take those sales away. ???? :0

So--if you sales are coming via Z-shop---do you still get charged .99 cents and 15 percent---and do you get the shipping credit ??? or do you get charged the Z-shop percentage and not get the shipping credit??
(this is for sellers without Pro-merchant)

I have been selling on zShops for almost a year. Not much, about 10 items every months, but then, you could select to pay only the 10 cents listing fees. When they dedided to switch to mandatory Pro-Merchant account, I did not think it worthwhile to register and I quit selling on zShops. So, I already had my storefront there and they did not delete it after I decided not register.
Now, 2 weeks ago, I saw "Sell yours" logos while browsing books at Amazon.com and I clicked on one. I then fill descriptions, prices, etc. and now, I am selling through Marketplace!
After that, I clicked one of my listed item and I ended up inside my zShops storefront listings. I did a search on zShops, and my items are showing up there also. I only realized that you could leave feedback after Valerie pointed that out. So, my guess is those with feedback came through zShops and others from Amazon.com mainsite.
But, as far as understanding why it works that way for myself or how it works for others, and if your items count towards your quota, sorry, I don't have a clue!
It would be nice to have only the zShops fees of 5%
Alas, I paid $0.99 + 15% + Amazon kept their shipping share of $1.91 or $1.46 on each and every one of my sales! That buids up to a quite a hefty commission.
My last statement says: Payment fees of $59 for Payment received of $212. This is a 28 percent commission!
But, I knew that in advance and did take it into account when pricing my items for sale. At least they sold. Most of them have been sitting duck on half.com for a couple of months.
