First of all, I am not a party to the following scenerio, ok?

What if a eBay seller has successfully completed a sale of an item that is no-doubt a copyright violation. Is the buyer (after sending money and receiving the item) violating the copyright infraction?

In my opinion yes and no. In one sense the purchaser is in possession of a "stolen" item but it is the seller that the law goes after.

Of course, I am referring to the fact that the buyer is indeed aware of the unlawful act.

Again, I am neither party I am a registered business and avoid illegal stuff.

The copyright owner can track down and request return/destruction of all the violating items, without compensation ot the buyer.

Buyer would have to comply, because the civil liabilties are high, and then go after the seller for return of money.
