Anybody have any ideas as to why search is so far behind? I've clicked on items that I KNOW would of or should of had bids that were closing soon to find that they do indeed have bids that were placed over two days ago and not showing up in the search. Any clues as to the problem?

I just used search without a problem...... Did you think to refresh your screen?

I guess I didn't post my question properly? Lately search results will give results alright but will show little or no bids on items that would normally have a large amount of bids. When I click on them, sure enough there are several if not many bids that have been in place for 2 or 3 days. Any idea what's going on? Why wouldn't it show bids on the page with the search results?

flynn: The listings showed no bids, but when you opened the auctions, they did have bids that were placed a few days ago? Had you done a search w/description, or just a title search?

Glenda: The search was with description and title. I didn't do one with just the title. Do you think that would make any difference?

Flynn: You might want to try it and see?

When was it any different? Only 2 days, that is an improvement.

If you do a search with 'descriptive' checked you'll get very out of date bids and prices. Do the search for the same item with the 'title search' and you'll get a listing that's probably just a few hours old at the most.

Seems like the descriptive search database isn't updated, after an item is added to the descriptive search database it doesn't up date. I noticed some items that were 7 days old that didn't show the second bid that came on the second day. I don't mind if the bids aren't current, what bothers me is when the item doesn't show up at all. I think eBay's got the search working a lot better now. (knock wood)

Well I tried the search without descriptions being checked and yup, it is current. I always check on items that have high bids because that usually means it's getting lots of attention so it must be worth looking at. If an item has no bids, but usually does, I usually think to myself "well there must be something wrong with it". If I do that as a potential bidder, I wonder how many other people do this, and as a seller that worries me!

I've experienced the same problem and have tried the refresh button. One of my auctions took 1 1/2 days to show up in search recently, too!
