i purchased a widget. the auction stated that there was no damage to this widget, and from the photo, it did indeed appear to be perfect. yesterday the widget arrived. there is damage that is evidently old because the edges of the damage are clean, rather than browned as one sees with this type of widget. the packaging, while in a really flimsy box which was wrapped with VERY wrinkled paper bag, was not damaged. tucked in with the widget was $5.

i believe the damage is old, but i'll give the seller the benefit of the doubt and pretend it was perfect when listed. i also believe that the seller knew this widget was damaged due to the fact that said seller had put $5 i with this widget.

i e-mailed the seller and said that the widget is damaged and the auction said it was perfect. i also said that i had found the money, but want to work out a complete refund, including postage, as i bid on what i believed to be a perfect widget. i have no use for this damaged one. i said that we could discuss a method to return the widget to the seller (i was implying that if she wants it returned, it isn't going to be on my dime.) i sent this e-mail last night, but have had no reponse.

this seller has a feedback rating of under 25. am i being taken for a ride? how long should i wait before i take action? what action would some of you recommend? thanks in advance!

uh huh. that's what i thought!

In answer to the question 'how long should I wait', I'd wait until Monday evening. Lots of sellers are away from their computers over some weekends.
