Tonight was just another night I could not get into an auction because of server problems on Ebay's end. This has been going on now for the last 3 weeks that I am aware of but probably for the last 2 years I have been visiting the site.
The only time the site did not seem to have problems was when it went snafuee for those weekly periods last summer. After they got it up and working again, things moved really fast. Now, from time to time, things just do not work. I can tell you that in the last 3 weeks I would have earned 50 sellers at least 3 - 4 dollars more per auction if I could have gotten in. I have a trace program and it is very easy to see where the problem lays.
I have started to leave Ebay and buy items from other Internet sites. It costs more and takes more of my time to find what I am looking for this way. But the time I save not having to put up with the slowness and complete idiot answers from the staff at Ebay about "Our engineer's are working on the problem" makes it well worth it. My time is my money. Don't give me the crap about Ebay is such a huge site it is bound to have problems. This may be true to a certain extent but not as often as they currently exist. If anybody from Ebay is reading this thread please respond intelligently to this with an answer as to what Ebay is doing to address and SOLVE the problem and bring an end to a bad situation.
Sorry if this is long winded but I am just fed up with the all the BS Ebay tries to constantly shove down my throat about how good a job they are doing. Please respond with your comments if you like. Thank you.

Here's a question that has been asked here before very recently, but not yet answered:
What about eBay's "hot backup" ???
My husband theorized that it couldn't kick in because they were already using it.
