"***, I believe you've had ample time to mail my ***. If you do not do so PRONTO, you will be reported. I will also contact other buyers who are planning to send you money and inform them of your deceiptful practices. SHAPE UP!"

Item had gone in the mail eailer that day and I just left a very postive feedback.

It was the first e-mail from the bidder.. and the auction was about 9 days old.

Why do some people have to be so damn rude?

Ugh, rude indeed. Not much you can do about those folks... it's best just to imagine what a sorry life this person must have to act like that.

I'd send back a note and pretend the person wasn't such a jerk, and tell him nicely that his package went in the mail today, I'd left positive feedback for him, and I appreciated his business. If that doesn't either appease him or push his guilt button, there's no hope.

I think that's a threat of auction interference that could be reported to Safehabor if you have the inclination.

Something must be in the air....

Just grit your teeth & try to reply as professionally as possible, and thank them for their patience.

I once had a customer bid $16.75 on a widget, thinking she was getting a SET of widgets. MAN, was she STEAMED! I politely pointed her to the auction & asked her to check the description. I asked her for advice as to how I could have re-worded the auction to reduce confusion.

Maybe I'm born under a lucky star, but she said: "I am sorry, you are right, and it is very clear, had I took time to read the description clearly." She went on to leave me nice feedback & was a repeat customer!!!
Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

Geesh, must be in the water today...got one of those rude emails myself. Item arrived in a thousand different pieces. Fortunately, the item was insured...whew! (breathing sigh of relief. LOL)

My bidder was highly upset because she had been attempting to send email to me at an AOL address. I've never used AOL! The email I finally received at the correct address stated that this was the third and final request for my reply before contacting eBay. I could see from the headers of all messages underneath her "or else" message that she had been sending email to an AOL address. Holding my breath on this one, though, because it was sent at 11 a.m. this morning. And being that I had to work all day, I didn't get to check email until later tonight. Eeegads!

And to top it off, she asked for the original photo listed in the auction. To make a bad day worse, hubby chose today to do a little "puter housekeeping." All pics are gone!!!

To make a long story short, offered to send insurance receipt ($50 or less claim, so should be pretty hassle free) and printed page of closed auction. If that fails, I guess I'll offer to refund the money...it's the least I can do. I just hate to when people are so darn rude!!

Goodnight Y'all!

My rudest was some guy who never answered my EOA notices or sent payment. He sent an email that said only:

WHERE'S MY SHIRT?

I emailed him back I never received the payment. He still never answered my email, but a few days later he sent a check. Of course he didn't leave me any feedback. SIGH!

Don't waste your time doing this - eBay will do absolutely nothing to help you

PS - based on the original poster's 'handle', do you sell adult materials? If so, you have to expect this kind of response from the sleaze that buys it

Kill 'em with kindness, it makes you feel better and may change their outlook! (or it may make them feel about 1" tall, either way...)

My worst when when I found a bad feedback on an auction that had just closed. The high bidder wrote: "I got ripped off. I found it cheaper somewhere else." Well, who the heck told him to bid that high?

CelebritySkin, I completely empathize for you. We've had a couple of bad days too. It must be in the water as Act2Auctions mentioned.

We had a high bidder who was unhappy with a purchase. We handled the problem above and beyond so well that she said she was reassured and would continue to bid on our auctions. We had inadvertently reimbursed her a couple dollars more than what she paid. She then screamed "WHAT AM TO DO NOW!" I just said don't worry about reimbursing us. She's won a couple of our auctions previously and the thing is, we couldn't deal with her on her happy days. Thats how bad she is. We just want her gone.

Slightly off topic: Interesting how several of us read the initial poster's nickname in different ways.

RB asked if celebrityskin sold adult materials, and aroundtheworld writes the name as CelebritySkin.

I read it as Celebrity's Kin, and assumed it was someone related to a famous person.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled program.

I had an auction end 10 days ago. Sent my EOA received email from buyer with name and
address immediately with message will send payment. I wonder when it is going to be sent. I would love to send a rude email, but, I bite my cheek and just wait. I was a buyer of an auction that ended late Sept 19. Received my EOA sent PayPal payment and I have my purchase already. What a great auction, and a great seller. I wish they were all like that. Thank goodness for great sellers.

I had a buyer who emailed me 3 times asking for my address to send payment, I replied to each one with the requested info. The 3rd time I realized she wasn't receiving the reply. Her isp is webtv and I couldn't reply, had to send a new email with the info.

I'm telling you, it is in the water today! I got one this morning asking why they are being charged priority prices when I only ship twice a week? (My EOA states twice, but sometimes it's 3 or 4.)

After calming down and composing myself, I sent my reply. I said that at the weight of my packages, priority is only .05 more. Plus I require DC on all packages, which is .25 more for parcel post. So in the end it's actually .20 cheaper, my customers get their items up to a week faster and I don't have to buy boxes and pass that cost on to my customers. I also told her that if she needs it sooner, I can usually make a special trip.

She replied back right away saying that everything was ok and asked if I would send it right away and that she would send payment PayPal. Sure enough, she did. But the funny part is Friday (the day this is happening) is my one regularly scheduled shipping day and it's mentioned in my EOA!

Needless to say her package went out today. I'm just glad I handled it well and didn't fly off the handle like I felt like doing

Some customers get so aggravated when they don't read everything and causes grief on both sides. I realize we live in a busy world, but not all things can be communicated in 3-5 words. I read every word, do you?

There must be a whole lot of misery out there, because I've had three unhappy/diffcult cutomers in one week! In each case, I have tried to do as others here have suggested and maintain a professional and friendly tone throughout the interaction. But if (as my dear mama used to say in her best southern drawl) "you get more flies with honey than vinegar", I'd really have rather been a fly swatter than a honey pot this week.

Customer number one asks me (twice) to end auction early, I decline as there are five bidders. She says she'll bid, but if she wins, I "must" send it FedEx overnight. I decline, as FedEx is four towns away and would require a special trip. I offer USPS Express instead. So she wins and then doesn't contact. I email next day (because it has to be paid for & mailed that day to make HER deadline). Get a response to "call her on her cell phone" at a number on the other coast. I decline and ask for her to call or email. She sends payment via Billpoint instant pay without letting me know so that I can adjust postage (it's now $9.40 short of Overnight cost). Then emails and says her payment "will just have to do." So, as you've probably guessed by now, gentle reader, I call her long distance and try to work it out to which she says, "I am on a family retreat and can't get to a computer again, so just send it the cheaper (slower) way." And I'm wondering why she was bidding and seeking immediate shipment if she knew she would be out of town when the auction ended. (And all this hassle was for about $20).

Customer number two bids and wins an out of print nonfiction book that is very clearly described in the ad as "Ex-Library with all of the typical marks". Pays immediately and it ships next day (to Mr. X, CPA). His email? "This was a gift for my wife and I don't think she would be thrilled to open a used book. You have a lot of nerve to pass off an old library book as saleable." I bit my tongue and sent the sweetest email I could, saying I was sorry that he had missed the very clear inclusion of "ex-library" in my ad, mentioned that many people are happy to buy ex-lib books (especially rare & oop), then offer to refund (including postage both ways), as I want to take care of my customers. All the while I am thinking, I hope you read tax code more carefully than you do eBay ads, sir. I'm not too upset about this, as the book has a $50 value and he got it for about $10.

Customer number three is a deadbeat teenage eBayer who sniped a $75+ item that had steady interest for the whole week before he entered the scene. I've gone as far as to pull his contact info and make the dreaded long distance call, but the man who answered did not know "George Washington" (no fooling) and had never bid on eBay. A quick check of his AOL profile reveals he claims to be 17 years old. I report him to SafeHarbor for bogus contact info. Their response? No help at all, jsut a form letter saying the user has now updated his info, so I pull it again. Surprise, surprise, still the good old founding father and the same old incorrect phone number.

All of this vent just to say - yes it must be something in the planetary alignment. I haven't seen this many flakes outside of a Pillsbury crescent roll in a long time

Just curious:

Am I the only one who saw the title of this post and figured that it was going to be a drippy, nice letter from a buyer that brought you out of your bad day?

Yikes.
