Last week-end my Grandmother died. I had to attend the funeral, which was in another state. Even though this was something very important to me, every day life still goes on. I had auctions that were going to close while I was gone, customers paying by payal (another story) on recently closed auctions which usually means next day shipping and incoming payments. I sent an email to every person I was waiting for payment, posted a note on all my auctions and to everyone else I could think of. The responses I received were very nice and thoughtful. Not one person was mean, demeaning or demanding and were understanding. This allowed me to concentrate fully on what I needed to do.
My grandmother was 91. She had a very full life and experienced so many things that we can only read about. I will miss her, but know that a little bit of her lives on in me and in my children.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Grandmother. It's good to hear that your customers are understanding. I just lost my father about 6 weeks ago, and I went through the same thing with my auctions. Every single customer was very understanding with me as well. I think most bidders will do the right thing if given a chance, and the rest aren't worth worrying about.

Most folks are only too happy to accommodate somebody's "life glitches" if they're notified well in advance with an appropriate apology for their trouble and assurances (backed up with action!) that you will not make YOUR problem THEIRS.
You did exactly the right thing - guess Grandma had a pretty good influence on you!
