I just brought home a new Digital Mavica Camera with the Mpeg Movie and 16X zoom. I love taking pictures, though I haven't quite figured out What setting takes the best ones. Anyway, here's my problem... I cannot figure out how to download them into my computer. The only software I received with it was The archsoft Photostudio, videoimpresion. I thought I could take the photos and then put the floppy disc into my computer and then just download straight from A but it tells me A is not accessible, device not ready. I can find the pictures and get them into my browse box but it will give me the message before I get it uploaded. Sorry for the awful terms but I am not all that computer savy!!! I am going crazy here and I hope someone out there who has a camera like mine can help me find what the missing step is!!!!!! Thanks!

Does your "A" drive read other disks OK? (Is there a problem with the "A' drive?)
Can you see the files on the floppy from Windows Explorer? (Can you read the disk from WE?)

Have you tried making a folder on your hard drive and copying the files from the floppy to the actual hard drive? Working directly from floppies can sometimes cause all types of problems.

Hello jfuller. Do you have another photo editing program installed on your hard drive? My computer already had another program that was the default for viewing my photos and I had to change the settings so that Arc Soft became the default in order to access them from my A drive.

I have Photomax installed right now. How would I check to see if it is my default? The software I have I also installed it on my grandma's new computer and I saw nothing to really help me with the resizing and getting them ready to upload. I usually crop and then save to my ebay file from photomax. How can I save the photos to my hard drive? Do I have to be able to click them on and then save? It won't let me click them on to then save? Thanks, Julie

Your problem sounds like either a disk problem or computer problem. Remember, if you jar the camera during recording it can damage the disk.
Not my name on ebay.

JFuller -
It sounds like a diskette problem. Can you read from ANY diskette with that A: drive?
To get the pictures from A: to C:, it's easiest to open the Windows Explorer (file manager) and drag them to the directory you want on your C: drive, then do the editing.
Some programs have a hard time working off the A: drive for technical reasons (like lack of room).

I would try a new disk before you get into the computer side. Sounds like a similar problem I had with the Sony at work and it turned out to be bad disk.
