For several of my listings, part of the item description no longer appears, and most importantly the bid box does not appear. Is anyone else haveing the same problem, and is there a way to correct this situation. The problem occurred after the item was initially listed, and for some items, after 1 or more bids had been placed.

Sometimes this is caused by too much HTML weird in the description, especially using page HTML like HEAD, TITLE, etc which is a no - no.
