Over the last year, I have gotten a few emails from someone who tells me that my little glass item is not what I am listing it as~and that for a dollar she would be happy to set me straight in the future!
She then tells me all about my item ~problem: she is dead wrong each time!
The last time she told me that what I was listing was a small EAPG saucer, american made~when, in fact, I pulled it out of a set of doll dishes at the Paris flea market myself!
I sent the email to SafeHarbor, but of course, she is not selling under that email addy.
She must be sending out a lot of these emails because I don't list that much glass and I have gotten these 2-3times.
Not a big deal, I guess, but more than a little irritating.
Just wondering if anyone else as been given any of this "helpful" advice?

Oh yes, I am listing an item right now and have included the suggested retail price on the box in the description. I received an email asking why I had listed that as the srp when you could buy item every day for xxx number of dollars. What's her point? And my email won't send today, I couldn't even set her straight! Made my whole day bad.

Ran into this woman also. Told me to burn all my EAPG reference books as they were trash. Has absolutely nothing nice to say about anybody in the EAPG field. I also was bidding on some items and she wrote me that the dealers were horrible to deal with and that they only sell reproductions and she could sell me the items cheaper. I complained to Safeharbor that she sends emails out under one addy but is a seller under another. They won't do anything as she doesn't use her sellers ID to email you.

Just a thought, You might use one of the reverse email lookup sites (http://www.freeality.com/findet.htm is one). Search on the email address and find the full name. Send the name to safe harbor and see if the name is registered.

Who knows, you might get lucky.

They still won't do anything, since she's not using the email addy she's registered with Ebay. You know, it's the old "we can't be absolutely sure it's the same person" song and dance--same reason they don't screen registrations to make sure NARU's aren't re-registering.

Yes - she's contacted me more than once, too. She must just sit and browse the glass categories looking for people to e-mail.

If you are using "Out Look Express" when her e-mail comes in, highlight it, go to FILE, pull "properties," copy them, and send them to her ISP. Normally that would be:

abuse @ (whatever her ISP is)

Send them a copy of the properties, and complain to them about her endless Spam - if a couple of you do this, they normally will do something about it. BUT they have to have the "properties" send with your complaint.

ALSO, if she writes your bidders, this is what I did when I suspected such, I had a friend bid on my auction, and when she got one of this type of letters, it was turned over to SafeHarbor and the member was suspended.

IF you are using "Out Look Express" you can also block her mail, which at least then you don't have to read her junk, and it will "T" her off.

This is mean, but post both of her e-mail addresses on some of the porn Usenet news groups - I am sure you can use your imagination!

Not only mean, but I'm pretty sure that is illegal as well. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I agree it is not "right," but it might be effective and keep her out of other's business for a while.

Well, I'm not really interested in going after her all that much! Unless she was emailing my bidders~which I have no reason to believe at this point~then I would not be happy.
Maybe if her "expert knowledge" wasn't so far off, it wouldn't be such a big deal~but I wonder how many people are sending her dollars for an appraisal.
Hmmm, since she is such an expert, why isn't she using it to list her own glass on ebay instead of dialing for dollars!?!?
