For the life of me, I cannot figure out WHY PayPal keeps reducing my available spending limit. My credit card is charged and pays the bill each month. Shouldn't that reset the spending limit?

Once it's down to $0.00, I WILL NOT be giving my bank info to verify, I will just pay by snail mail or use some other service.

WHY would they insist on account verification AFTER I have PROVEN that I am good for the money I spend through them???

Pretty stupid.

I agree! And I sincerely hope that this kind of action will eventually cause buyers to STOP using them! I have tried several times to drop them from my auction listings, but buyers insist. Now they will not verify my online bank -- a real bank which is FDIC -- and I am paying them an outragious amount of money for tiny little sales. If all of the buyers will start to see how inconsistent, and unfair, and unreasonable these people are getting to be, maybe we can all get back to normal. Accepting checks and the risk of a bounced one is nothing compared to all the nonsense I have been through in the past few months with Paypal!

I don't know what PayPal's official position is on this (and probably, neither do they), but I would suppose that the reason for the limit is to get access to as many accounts as possible, in order that they might improve their chances of recovering money from someone (anyone) in the event a stolen cc is used for a transaction.

Based on some of the posts here on AW, it appears that they are an equal opportunity kind of business in this regard- they don't seem to care much who they get the money from, just as long as they get it.
