Does anyone have any idea whats the differnce in celloid and hard plastic. Is there a way to tell the difference between the two? thanks for your help in advance!

another differents is that celluoid is acid based and degrades fairly fast a matter of few decades and is highly flamable.
Modern plastic HDPE LDPE LEXAN on the other hand is oil based and has a half life of about 150 million years burried in a land fill.
Eventhe so called biodegradable plastic that was popular not many years back wasnt truely biodegradeable it had a cemical added that caused it to crumble up into smaller bits when exsposed to sunlite but the end product was still plastic bits.
