I've seen this before in books, but I don't know what it's called. It's when the pages haven't been cut...for example, page 32 is still attached to page 33 along the bottom edge. I have an old 2 vol. set and both books have this on several pages. Any help would be appreciated.

The correct word is "unopened." The terms, "uncut" and "unopened," are often confused. Here are the definitions from the glossary on the Advanced Book Exchange website (www.abe.com), a wonderful source of book information:

Uncut
The pages of the completed book have not been shaved down to a uniform surface.


Unopened
The leaves of the book are still joined at the folds, not slit apart.
