Two long-overdue EOA mails tracked down:
First seller is using an ISP whose upstream is popularly known among mail administrators as "Clueless and Witless". The total lack of interest that C&W has shown in getting rid of high-volume professional spam-senders has placed their mail servers in a whole bunch of "deny" lists. I think his email was dropped by a router somewhere between his mailbox and mine.
Second seller (for the SECOND TIME) is sending emails with no subject, and who in the past sent by some bizarre means that resulted in totally empty messages (MS Outlook can send emails that nothing byut a Microsoft program can read, and I don't plan on using that bug-infested bit of crapware just to read a few emails).
I don't bother to download anything that is not identifiable by subject as being REALLY email I am interested in. I get too damned much spam to waste time checking every email I get to see if it's legit or spam.
SUGGESTIONS:
1. Make sure your SUBJECT clearly identifies the auction by number and title, and has EBAY (or whatever) in there.
2. Make sure your email program is set to sent TEXT ONLY messages. Skip the HTML crap nd the fancy formatting in favor of sending messages that are universalle READABLE!
