I just saw that a customer zapped me some money, but on bottom of the completed form, it states "non credit card". If this is a non credit card, wouldn't this be an e-check and require a certain # of days for an e-check to clear or does that not matter with a verified account?
Perhaps it's someone's active PayPal account with some funds in it. I don't know. Did anyone else notice this or did I just not notice this before?

Because of PayPal's new format, when you send payment for an auction PayPal *automatically* withdraws it from your bank account on file unless you click on the little box that gives you, the buyer, "other options."
I learned this the hard way when sending a payment earlier today. Part of the money came from the balance in my PayPal account. The rest came from my checking account -- which is *not* what I had intended. I just assumed that it would come from my credit card on file.
I had to do a quick online transfer from savings to the checking account to cover it. I'm crossing my fingers that nothing bounces.
(sigh)
Okay, I guess I'm beginning to get the point regarding PayPal now.

I haven't been paying with PP much lately, but seems like for the past few weeks, the default has been to have payment taken from your bank account. I had to click on a button to get it out of my credit card instead. They just never stop with their tricks. I'm still trying to figure out what the $100/month spending limit means to me and how I should change what I have been telling my buyers...

I had the exact same experience as Rachel yesterday. After noticing the bank account withdrawal on my History page, I went back through the "Send Money" pages and found the tiny "Other Sources of Funds" link on the last page. I called PP immediately to have the transaction cancelled, or the source of funds changed, and was told "Sorry, it's too late.". The real kicker was that the CS rep I talked to suggested that I contact my bank, which she finally admitted (when I questioned her about it) would probably result in having my PP account frozen. Thank God today is payday!!!
I started a thread over on the Partner Services Board about this issue. Please add your comments to it!

I don't use PP as a buyer, but as a seller they used to show the cost of the transaction and running balance- not true now. Will have to manually look at each item to get the charges for my accountant(bank fees). Now made using PP more time consuming. Looking at other alternatives.
