Ten years ago I picked up a reverse painting on glass. For many years, even before I bought it, the paint has been flaking off a little at a time. Is there some method to stop the deterioration? Is there some coating I can safely spray on it to preserve it?

If not worth having profesionally restored, you could get a copy of Techniques in Reverse Glass Painting by Margaret Emery - I think she covers some restoration and conservation issues.
Can you post a link to a picture? I could probaly give you more advice if we could see it.
