Well, it had to happen--I'm sending my first refund to a bidder today. The item sold for over $150, and I'd like to get my FVF back, if possible. I looked at the procedure on eBay's page, but it seems aimed at the deadbeat-bidder situation only. Can anyone tell me how to go about getting the FVF credit when there's a mutually-agreed upon refund/return...do I have to file an NPB? (Doesn't seem warranted, and I don't want to antagonize the bidder.) Also, does she have to e-mail anyone at eBay, and if so, who?

Thanks for your help!

There is an option that you can select in the FVF section that deals with refunding the money. A letter is sent out, but it basically says something like, "we understand you and the seller agreed not to complete the transaction" or something along those lines. No, she doesn't need to email anybody.

You follow the same procedure. In the NPB form, there's a section where you indicate the reason for filing. Be sure to choose "Buyer returned the item for a refund". The buyer will not get a NPB strike against him/her, and will receive an email from Ebay stating that you've notified them that the buyer decided not to complete the transaction and asking for a response if this information is not correct. You will be able to file for FVF immediately (the screen will come up automatically after you complete the NPB filing), rather than waiting the 10 days that are required if you file due to non-payment.

Thanks Glenda and Pickersangel! So far I've been so lucky that I've never had to file an NPB or FVF--alas, there's a first time for everything...

I appreciate the help
