Just a positive rant - I don't know if it's the type of items that I sell, but I have only had one 'bad' sale so far - but I have recently had two great non-bidders contact me and offer advice and their expertise.
Like Keziak, I mostly sell books. Lately, I have really been getting into PBO's, which can be highly collectible depending on the author/illustrator. Unfortunately, some of the publishers aren't great about stating 'first editions' or 'first paperback printing' on the title pages. I recently had one up where I couldn't tell, so I stated this and asked that if anyone knew differently to please let me know.
Of course, someone knew and sent me an email. To cut this short, we corresponded and turns out that he is in the book biz and has published a collector's and price guide that is one of the standards in the field. He then offered to send me a free copy!
The other person also knew this author's works well and has given me a short course in paperback collecting and a list of titles/authors to watch for!
Just wanted to tip my hat to these folks who took the time to educate me - it just seems that avid readers are great!

I found a really nice person. She bid on my auction for 10 one gallon plastic jars. She ended up paying $10 for them plus postage. She used them to make squirrel feeders and sent me one as a gift. It cost her $10.65 to send it to me. We've been waiting for the snow to melt and warm up a bit here to put it up on one of our trees. What a nice gal!
