Which one do you use/like the best? I mainly want one that will spruce up my auction pictures especially with soft borders and the like, since I sell children's clothing. Also my camera isn't the best, so I need something that will touch up my images to the best quality possible. Right now I'm using Paint Shop Pro, and it seems pretty basic to me. I'm wondering, is there something out there that's better? Thankyou for your help!Sherah

Paint Shop Pro is considered the poor man's Photoshop. And no I don't own any of their stock. I swear by it, though. Great program. Also try MGI PhotoSuite. It makes fancy edges for your pics.
Oh, and I guess I should read before I reply.

I would love to try MGI Photosuite but don't see anywhere that I can download a trial version of it. I haven't checked the price but it is probably expensive. ???

Comp USA had it free after rebate this week. Last week Best Buy had free. Even if you don't like doing rebates it's around 30-40 dollars. They have different versions.

I still use PictureIt!2000...I keep trying others and they just seem too complicated. I know there are many great ones out there and, in fact, I have several of them in my library. But, it seems everytime I download one it is never as easy as my PI2000 so I keep going back. For the purpose of processing images for auctions anyway, it does everything I need and I only spend less than 30 seconds per photo to completion!

I'm also a Photoshop user. The full version is pretty expensive for the casual user. There is an "LE" version which is shipped with a lot of scanners or can be purchased pretty reasonably.

I use ADOBE PHOTODELUX 3.1 HOME EDITION, it came with my KODAK DC215 DIGITAL CAMERA. It does everything you want and then some, once you know how to use it. I can usually trim, size, and INSTANT FIX a picture ready for EBAY in about 30 seconds....Then convert it to JPG. for uploading at auctionwatch. The DC215 camera costs $300.00 at WALMART or COMP USA, for the most part it is more than adequit foe Ebay. As long as you remember, when taking a picture, to push the shutter button down part way for a second (this allows autofocus to do its work), then press shutter button down all the way to take the picture. Its a very easy camera to use. I thought about upgrading to the new SONY DSC70 but, at this time I only take pictures for my Ebay listings so I don't know what advantage it would be to upgrade.

Want one that is ABSOLUTELY FREE, powerful and easily a match for Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro? It's LINUX verison is used by numerous professional studios, including the one that does the Coke polar bear ads.
It's out of the LINUX and GNU environment, so the interface is not "windows standard" but it's all I've been using for over a year, for eBay and for photoediting at work.
http:/www.gimp.org/
http://www.gimp.org/win32/ is the Windows version ... download and install,.
They have a downloadable manual in two PDF files.
I'm working on a tutorial called "Quick and Dirty Photoediting for GIMP" but it's not online yet. (you know, round tuits are hard to find). But load it up and play with it. READ ALL THE TIPS before you start, and right-click on an image to activate the menus.
