I finally took the plunge today and purchased my very own FD-85. The battery is charging as we speak. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the helpful advice.

That charging light keeps staring back at me..taunting me! LOL I keep my optician's license current just in case eBay goes belly up. I have to spend 8 hours in continuing education classes tommorrow. That will be hell knowing all day that my new toy is charged and ready.

Congrats! And remember -- as long as it's plugged in, you can still use it even if it isn't fully charged. It won't keep charging while you use it, but you can still play with it...
Having used mine for a couple of weeks now, I would recommend taking pictures with the image size set to 1024x768 for better quality, and then using a good graphics program like Photoshop to reduce the size as needed. It has REALLY improved my pictures. Great resolution, no blotchiness, etc.
Good luck!
Barry
