Just got an email in, it is from HAHAH and the subject is: Snowhite and the seven Dwarfs-The REAL story. It tells a little story in the email then goes to this......I guess that means you are supposed to open the attachment to finish it, the attachment is called midgets.scr I have never heard of an scr file and have no intention of opening it. Has anyone heard of this?

an .scr is a screen save file..photo file...probably not infected..but if you don't know who it is from and don't have the latest greatest virus scanner..don't take a chance.

.scr can be a screensaver or script file- maybe there are others. I wouldn't open it.

Why do people send this crap all over the Internet? It's bad enough that I get the same chain letter messages about Ghandi's thoughts and Husband 1.0 from eight different people, but if I see an attachment with any extension other than .jpg, I begin to go nuts with rage!

I believe I read on another thread that this IS a virus. I've been getting this email almost every day for WEEKS and have no idea where it's coming from. I just delete it.

I looked at the message source, and the return address is: [email protected], but it went through Bell South, so I dunno.
Don't I know it about being spammed, several of my bidders have added me to their mailing list, and the jokes and stories are getting a bit old.

I received this a while back... checking the properties indicated it was some porn site or pic or something... I don't remember exactly. The delete key is your friend.

A .SCR file *IS* an Executable. DONT OPEN IT
Guess how they make a screen saver? Write a program, rename it with a .SCR instead of .EXE extention, and throw it into the Windows folder. TaDa... instant screen saver.
Do this sometime with Notepad.EXE or Calc.exe on a friends system.. Copy and rename it .SCR and set their screen saver to it. They'll have NO clue why calculator keeps popping up on their system

Snow White
Description:
This semi-polymorphic worm propagates via email and may also spread through Newsgroup postings. It does not have any destructive payloads. However, it has several known plug-ins that may be upgraded to make it malicious. Upon execution, this worm monitors Internet access from the infected computer and monitors any email sent and received. Once it detects Internet connection, it sends an additional email to all addresses that were sent to by the infected user, after the worm was executed. This email includes a copy of the worm as an attachment. The filename of the attachment is selected randomly depending upon the system default language of the infected computer.

I just realized that I probably looked like a moron with the subject line of the email, but that is a direct copy and paste from the subject line, not my doing.
