Most of my auctions are for new police equipment. Two weeks ago I had some
auctions that due to a product recall by the manufactuer, I wasn't able to deliver.
Most winning bidders were wonderful, opting to wait for the item, get a refund if they
paid, or cancel the transaction. One winning bidder just wouldn't let up. He emailed me
constantly, The word fraud among lots of others was used by him. He also kept
threatening to report me to ebay because ebay needs to know i'm ruining ebays
reputation Remember, this man never paid me anything. The last straw was when he
won another auction for the same item by someone else for more money than the
auction he won with me. He sent me a payment request via paypal demanding I pay
the difference or he would leave negative feedback.

I came here to this board for advice. I followed the advice and reported it to
SafeHarbor. I did email him one more time, told him what I did. I also asked him to not
bid on anymore of my auctions, and said anymore email from him would be deleted
without reading.

I haven't heard a word since. Now the new problem.. I haven't had too much trouble
with non paying bidders in the past. One of my current auctions (not a police item)
caught my eye this morning. Normally I wouldn't complain but the bidding
was way to high. I checked the bidding history and 3 people had bid on it, all with (0)
feedback. One of them has been an ebay member since yesterday and the other two
just joined today. While I can't prove anything, this sure looks fishy to me. If this
disgrunteled comtomer set up numerous ebay usernames what's to stop him from
waiting until the end of the auctions is near and bidding on everything like that.

I thought one solution would be to email each one of them saying i've had trouble with
someone opening accounts and bidding on my auctions with no intent to pay. Maybe
ask for a name or address, something I could verify. If they responded and it was him,
even if he gave fake information there would be an email from him that could be
traced. If there was no response I could just cancel their bid.

If this is him, it would take a while to get him suspended. Couldn't he just keep signing
up with different names and keep bidding on my auctions?

At this point I don't know what to do. Help!

Please edit out the auction number. There are strict rules outlined in the CG's before posting any identifying auction information.

I can give you about 30 minutes to do the edit.

sit back and relax... Do not e-mail your new ebay bidders! It may or may not be him. I don't think he would register 3 times.

If your wrong you could really offend these new bidders... don't chance it!

Another alternative is to request the contact information on them. Give them a phone call with the excuse that you realize they are new bidders and wanted to be sure that they know what they are bidding on. If any of the contact info is either bogus, or the same as your original guy, cancel their bids and contact safeharbor.

YES, and eBay cant'/won't do anything about it.

Pull the contact info on EACH of them and validate the address and phone number. If the city, telephone and ZIP don't match (ZIP or phone is for wrong city), report it to safe harbor as fake ID.

And go to vrane.com and check out their nifty little bid-canceller and auction ender. You may need it. they have two: One cancels ALL bids and closes an auction. the other just cancels ALL bids by any ONE user on ALL your auctions.

However, if he didn't get his stuff because of a recall, legally you owe him nothing. It's like ordering lobster in a restaurant and having the waiter come back and say "Sorry, we're all out of lobster, the boat sank on the way into harbor."

He is NOT out any money, so there is NO FRAUD involved!

Well what you can do is go to the page where you request the personal info on a user....
its right where you initiated a complaint against a user......its always hard to me to find but its in that area....
then you will get an email with his info and he gets an email as well.

If all of them are in the same city or same anything collect them all and simply forward them to safeharbor....

Or if the defect is deadly you could get mixed up and ship one to him.
