He chose to pay by credit card and is now miffed that he had to give his credit card number? Or, he had to give his cc number when registering so the site can check his bona fides? If so, then, the answer of why no FB is easy: 'Cause that's all your fault! Or, did you demand to see the plastic before letting him bid? HA!
All in all, I think I'd just be glad it is no FB as opposed to neg FB. He sounds...um, misinformed or inexperienced. I'm working on my tact.

Did he happen to use the BIN feature? It requires a credit card before you can use it. That could be the case. I had a customer that thought he had already paid for the item when he put the credit card number in to be able to use the BIN. I explained it eight different ways and I am sure he was still convinced he paid twice.

Well, he wrote me a nice email to say he got the book, thought everything was excellent, but couldn't leave me FB because when he tried, he was asked for his credit card again.
Just sounded odd to me, and I don't like the idea that I might lose FB points if people have something pop up that turns them off.
