I rec'd. notice today via email from paypal that a pending e-check has been sent from a buyer. All I have to do is fill in a simple form...etc. I don't have and don't want an account with them. Way too many headaches and high blood pressure with the one I used to have on a different ID. My listing clearly states my payment preferences and paypal isn't one of them.

What to do?? Does this mean they now will get her money which sits in paypal heaven and I'm forced to sign up to get it to me? How can they accept payment for a non existing account? Doesn't sound legal to me.

Any advice appreciated.

Just tell the buyer to cancel the transaction and use a form of payment you do accept.

The exact same thing happened to me. I immediately told the buyer I do NOT accept paypal and they cancelled the E-check.
