If any of you can recommend a National shipping service I would appreciate it. The item we have is too big for US Mail, UPS or FedEx (HUGE Moose Antlers, and we don't want to break them in half). I got an email from a person in Virginia (we live in California) who wants to bid but needs to know shipping cost before he does. This is the first time I have needed another carrier, and I would appreciate some names if you have used them and found them to be reliable. We would be packing them ourselves, so we need just transport.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!

You might want to try www.forwardair.com (Forward Air). They are shippers that are available at most major airports. They only deliver from airport to airport, so your customer would have to pick up the item at their local airport. I've never used them, but have talke to a few folks that have and the service and $$$ were great.

Or lash them to the front of your 1/2 ton and drive them to the buyer

I think I saw a banner ad on these pages for Crate & Freight or something like that. I looked at their site but they did not have services in my area.

I need a shipper to come, pack on site, and ship a heavy piece of electronic equipment and am also looking for a company that does that.

Roadway Express is great for larger pieces of furniture, so I think that the antlers would quality. It is worth a call, IMHO.

Too bad the moose isn't still wearing his antlers, then nobody would have to worry about shipping them anywhere!

Oops! Did I say that?

Give them back to the animal that is missing them. I am sure it could use them. I wonder if we weren't the so called "smarter beast" and animals hunted us what would they mount. Just one of life's strange questions ; )

Hi There pjburt
I just shipped a mannequin to my daughter in a neighboring state.
It weighed 13 1/2 pounds but it was oversized as far as ups goes. It cost me 22.05 with 100.00 ins.
No fancy packing I just put it in a big plastic bag, she had it the next day.
They will give you a quote over the phone,
Just another option.
Regards Fudd

Try Emery Air Freight.

Thanks a squillion to everyone who helped me find a shipper for my HUGE Moose antlers when the auction has ended.

For any of you who get rejected by the standard mail services because of an oversize package, I have found that Greyhound Express is by FAR the most economical - $40.00 from coast to coast andinsured for up to $500!

We enjoyed all the wacky comments, and to those of you showed concerns for the animal, these came from an Estate sale - we did not commit this dasterdly deed.
