eBay removed the auction. I was actually thinking of bidding on it for my daughter and it's gone.
Hmmmpf.

It gets worse, the seller is NARU.
So either:
A. The seller & bidder that were tagged here as shillers are blood related, or live across the street from one another.
or
B. SH just did another shoot first & ask questions later
From the info provided on eBay, without pulling both their personal contact infos, I saw nothing that would confirm shilling.

Looks like the high bidder with 89 feedback is NARU as well. Geesh. I'd love to hear the "rest" of the story. If I get time today I'm going to invite both of them to this thread.

They also both had the same ISP. Both had auctions listed with similar fields entered under "location" in their auction listings. One was "Go Cyclones, IA" I believe and the other was "Go Rusty Wallace, IA". Check the bidding history for the bidder---several auction wins from that seller, but few feedback. If they were shilling, they were not very good at it. Still, the coincidences were enough to make one wonder...
I noticed yesterday that they were both NARU'd.

How can you not be a registered user and still list on ebay? Am I missing something here?

You can't, they're toast as of yesterday, as are all of their auctions, and bidding.

Check out the bidding history for the seller being discussed. Seems these two liked each other's auctions quite a bit, but not enough to leave much in the way of reciprocal feedback...

How do you check these people out if they are NARU's? I don't know all the in's and out's of finding out all this stuff. Ya'll are GOOD!

All I did was bookmark the auction, that's how I knew it was gone. I dont know the seller's ID's (I can't remember) and they can't be posted here so the others have better memories or kept track better than me

I wrote down the ID's mentioned because my curiousity compelled me to check back & see what (if anything) happened...

I clicked on the shilling thread yesterday and it had been WOMB'd. Can someone give a run down of what happened without naming names?
Thanks.

Good point, but there must be more to it than that? The seller has also bid on "multiples" by other sellers in various States.
Also, it appears they "won" many of the items they bid on by the "other" person who was suspended. Not exactly something a shiller wants to do.
Seriously, if these two really were in cahoots this has got to be one of the dumbest shill operations I've ever seen.

Kerryann-Yesterday a poster had a thread "look at this shilling" or something like that. He unfortunately listed auction number, seller ID AND the bidder ID of the person he suspected as shilling. He stated they were a "new user" and had just registered. He/she also stated they had already contacted eBay. When I went to look (yes, I did, couldn't resist), I found the auction number that had been given "was no longer in the database". So, I checked out the user ID's and found the bidder in question WAS NOT a new user, but had a rating of 80+. The seller had a rating 200+.
I really couldn't see why this person thought shilling was going on other than the fact the bidder had bid on lots of this seller's auctions.
I also saw where the bidder was also a seller. I actually thought the person was probably bidding on THIS sellers auctions because the ending prices on most auctions was very low so they were getting stuff to resale. That was just the impression I got.
If this was a case of shilling, it was a strange one and I guess I owe the poster of the original thread an apology. I had stated maybe they should be sure and have their facts straight before inferring wrong doing.
I guess I should have had my facts straight before making my comment!

Sulynn1950 .......... I don't feel the need to aplogize for anything.
The person that posted that auction # broke the AW TOS and that's why the thread was deleted.
There was no mention of the seller bidding on their high bidders items [who is also a seller] and the only complaint they brought to this forum was that the high bidder was bidding on multiples.
No word from either of the NARU parties yet.
If neither of them show up, well ..........

There must be more to it than that (I would hope!) if two users were NARU'd.
My mind is not made up either way, but perhaps the parties involved will grace us with their presence and enlighten us. I am keeping an open mind for the time being...

Hard to say? The geeks at SH can be as blind as Mr.Magoo one minute, and shoot to kill with no questions asked the next.
I've seen it go both ways, many times.
Both parties have the opportunity to clear their names [at least here on AW], and seek help getting reinstated, if they so choose.
I guess only time will tell?

There was a thread here about a possible shill and another one on eBay Q&A.
The thread here, as I recall, concerned a bidder on multiple auctions by the same seller (clothes items) where the items were at very inexpensive bid amounts and the bidder had farily high feedback.
If I am not confusing the two scenarios than I agree with RedDeer... If this was shilling then it was extraordinarily inept.
Experienced shills know not to risk established userids (in terms of feedback) as shills. Better to use established userids (in terms of registration date) with only a few feedback. And to spread the bidding of those ids across a variety of items and sellers to disguise their true purpose.

Maybe this was indeed the dumbest shill operation , ya think?
If that is the reason for the NARU's, is there a possibility of reinstatement after 30 days or are they gone forever under those ID's?
