After 5 days of 'glitches', MSN finally crashed on me last night. Couldn't get online until 4 EST today.
Kept telling us it was our computer, NOT MSN. Finally, today someone at MSN admitted that it is THEIR problem and they don't know what's wrong.
I'm on for now .. with my 3rd new password from them! Not sure what will happen 10 minutes from now. I keep getting disconnected every 1/2 hour or so .. better than yesterday when it was about every 10 minutes!!
So .. anyone else having MSN connection and/or outlook express problems??

MSN has been having problems since Jan. 23rd. I spoke to a service rep and they explained that Microsoft was doing a major upgrade on their servers and acccounts could not be accessed. I was even lucky enough to have one MSN bidder give me my first neg when he had problems with his email and he then claimed I "refused the sale" by not emailing him. Now he is singing another tune when he discovered on his own that he had problems and Billpoint had problems. I upgraded to Internet Explorer 5.0 and have had nothing but problems for most of January and February. Includes inability to access web pages, lost mail, slow, slow access to web sites. My service went from 56 baud to 24 baud and only improved for about one hour a few days ago. I am fairly sure this is a Microsoft issue since I had no problems prior to the Explorer upgrade.

Connection-wise I have been fine (except sometimes for msn messenger), but outlook express has seemed to been having some problems for some time now. And often I don't get emails for a day or so after they are sent. Some of the emails I send out are arriving blank. OE loads sometimes super slow or it errors out & you keep having to try. I don't even bother to call anymore because they have never once actually helped me. I usually end up figuring things out for myself. Since there is an acknowledgement from them, I feel somewhat encouraged that it will get better again sometime soon! thanks for the info!

Hello,
I had MSN for exactaly 1 1/2, I quit last Friday night. Now I have Earthlink, it's the same price. It's much much better and faster. I have dial up in the Seattle area and lately it had become a nightmare. Oh what a releif. I didn't have a longterm contract thank goodness.

PS. When I called to close my account I called what turned out to be a customer service center in the Toronto Canada area, so much for all those jobs in Redomond Washington. I think too many people were using the 8 or so phone numbers in my area and I kept getting the "email notification temporarily delayed message".
I have IE 5.5. I know that the MSN Explorer can really mess up your computer and you can't use Outlook Express anymore.

Thanks for the info everyone.
My experience has been like yours, Greengate.
Unfortunately I got one of those rebate deals from MSN for signing on for 3 years (it's been about 16 months now. If they don't shape up I'll probably just pay the prorate and be done with them!
As far as I know all transactions are over .. if anyone e's me with a complaint though, I probably won't know so not in the clear yet as far as negs are concerned. My mail is being returned (one very nice buyer called me to complete the one outstanding transaction I had).
I don't dare list anything else yet until this is resolved one way or another.
I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!

I have also had problems with MSN, ever since they had their server issues. My problem is that I can't log-in through MSN Explorer. I can connect okay, but then Explorer freezes on me. MSN claims that it's because of a faulty installation file, yet I've had Explorer since October 2000 with no problems.
I've been thinking about getting out of MSN but I also have the 3-year contract. I think, however, that this could be labeled as a breach of contract since I'm not getting the service that I am paying for.
