Believe me on this. Anyone that helps you put music in your auction isn't helping you. As for the color you need to visit a web site on HTML basics. Here's one to visit HTML primer, hope this helps.

Music I don't know & nobody likes it anyway.
Colors...do this first in your discription.
<*font color=blue*>or red, green etc.
at the end <*/font color=blue*> Leave out the stars though. Only space is between font & color.

NO NO NO---don't do it!!!! Don't fall under the evil spell of "Drive the buyer's nuts"--or call them non-buyers--cause they'll run screaming from yet another musical flashing auction.

It can be nice and subtle, like navy font
(#00080 for instance) in the text
or red (#ff0000) to highlight TOS.
Not a different color every line.
But something to draw the eye down the page.
Simple is great, but try looking at a thick paragraph.
I wish all sellers would learn the following:
<p> Paragraph breaks
<br> line breaks
<ul> unordered lists for breaking
<li> down items into readable listings
<li> not only does it help the bidder
</ul> know what you are selling, it can help the TOS get read, too.
<table> Master tables and you can control
<tr> your images and text
<td>Blah, blah</td>
</tr></table>
<hr> simple line to separate out sections
and last but not least
<h1><h2> etc to delineate headers
Color, I can take it or leave it, but a thick clotted paragragh describing your 195X vintage widget with a lot of accessories, attachments, backs, shades, and even lenses gets me down....oh yea in that terrible ebay font.

Presuming you use a pc (not WEBTV) you should be able to write your descriptions in Word or other similar software. When you go to save the file, choose to save it as html instead of doc or whatever your default extension is. You can change color and font styles easily and not need to remember or hassle with the codes. You then view the description in html (I believe it's under view on the toolbar) cut and paste into your auction description.
I'm with the rest on keeping it simple, especially the music. I usually back right out of an auction listing with music or too slow a load time.
