I got the email and passed on it. Didn't seem like much of an opportunity. Just more corporate welfare in my opinion. I've made it my goal to not allow corporate welfare to muddle in my plan to get rich this year! I'm still hoping it works out...

POST THE headers ... those several lines of computer gobbledygook.
This could have been forged by bigstep.com and aimed at a scavenged list of powersellers, like most of the other spam claiming to be for eBay sellers. And looking at their site, I see nothing abuot their having any kind of deal with eBay.
Send it to support ... that's a blatant ripoff of the text from an eBay letter, the FROM and to are forged to look as if it's from eBay and it's SPAM.

Abacaxi makes sense. It looks like SPAM to me too.
Think about it.....eBay encouraging PS's to sell their stuff on their own website as opposed to eBay? eBay willingly give up their ever increasing cut? This is the not the eBay I know.

On the eBay message boards a pink liner has acknowledged that eBay did send that email (aka SPAM) about BigStep.com, so yes it is the eBay you know. This is the same eBay that put up banners to Barnes and Noble, ACE Hardware, BMG, etc. to take buyers to another website to make purchases.
If you get an email from an eBay rep and they are trying to set you up with a hot one-night date with their mother for a introductory price it's probably a valid email.

I can't believe this one! Ebay HAS to own this company!
It is really scarry to read this right after reading about Meg Whitman speaking at a convention of Ebay's new goal to be the number online seller of book's and movies this year. But NOT through Ebay but through Half.com. Are they trying to slowly dump us small time auction sellers completely? You're right I'm just being paranoid.

Ebay makes a massive chunk of cash off any fool who signs up for the non-ebay services they tout.
I am a member of an affiliate program and have seen some of the perks for signingup with these same companies as an affiliate.
BN gives roughly 8% of sales through click throughs......that will bring in more cash then the little listing fees from any given category.
They would probably make a 10% chunk for anyone who signs up for the bigstep contract.
With big step you must sign a contract with cardservice international regarless if you alreasy have a merchant account. Bigstep is on no way free.....even if their main page claims so. It's basically free webhosting for cardservice international members.
Thanks, but no thanks
Everyday it seems Ebay is becoming abusive and disrespectful to its users and treating them like sheep who'll swallow anything they feed them. Its bad enough We get adds and promos in our EOA announcment emails.
