Whats up with search on eBay?

I was checking my "Personal Photo Gallery" last night and only 17 out of my listed 40 were showing.
I checked again this morning and its down to only showing 13. These are items that have been on over a week now, so last nights maintainence wouldn't have anything to do with it.

There is no ryhme nor reason to the ones that are still showing. Or as the case may be NOT showing.

Figures don't it PAY MORE TO GET LESS!

Those of you running "picture galleries" through eBay should check yours.

With running my auctions at $1.00 no reserve I rely heavily on people looking at my other stuff.

At any rate "description search" is and has been down for a portion of eBay.

Anyone else notice this?

Hi Packer: I have noticed that this happens sometimes on Friday morning after maintenance. Most times it comes back up by late Friday or early Saturday. But on the other hand you can never tell what eBay was mucking around with last night.

Hi smw,

I checked the gallery early last evening and it was like that, so I doubt their maintence down time had much to do with it.
I don't check my gallery everyday, so I don't know how long the pictures have been missing.
Besides like I said they have been on a week now. Indexing would'nt or should'nt effect those.

Its got to be something with description search, but why so randomly.
Some numbers start with 55xxxxxx(9#'s) and some start with 12xxxxxxxx(10#'s)

By the way with the different sized numbers, its giving my eBud program a fit.

Half of mine are missing too, though my gallery pic shows in the category listings. Weird. I wonder how many times this has happened before? Search seems to have continual problems.

packer...

Do you know why they have the different sized numbers? I must have missed the reason for that, somewhere.

Hi toke,

I'm not real sure, I think I read here one time that it has to do with a totally different data base stationed somewhere else. Or something like that. Don't quote me on that.

Thats why I'm confused about how random it is.

edited to make the sentence make sense. If thats possible.

LOL! Thanks, packer. BTW, those numbers aren't troubling my eBud. I've got Version 2.53. Have you tried widening that column?

Hi toke,
I was just looking at eBud again, before all newly listed items were at the top of the page and in the order I listed them.
Now there stuck in all over the place in the completed auctions.
I did a little investigating and its the ENDING date thats all screwed up. Some are saying ENDED 1931 and some are saying ENDED 2026. Where do I go to get the up-date?
I checked their help page and see nothing about updates.

Uh oh. I just looked at the "news and updates" link on their browser (right on the program screen)...it's totally changed.

What version are you running?

I'm running 2.20RC3
I know its probably a dinasour, but I hate upgrading. Seems I always run into problems.

All I was able to find was a support board.
So I submitted a question on where I could find the up-grade.

Its always something.

I sould up-grade my MisterLister but haven't done that yet either.

Wow...that is an old one. But, hey...it works, huh?

I've had excellent results from Support...they're just a little slooow...

I always make a back-up copy of eBud, before I update...just in case.

I heard back from Whitney of eBay Support.
She tried to tell me she checked my auctions and everything was "FINE". Problem must be fixed.

Well everything is not "FINE".
She didn't check very good. Still only 13 pictured in "MY GALLERY".

toke,
Do you use your e-mail address for your "search" words?
I'm wondering if they are doing a systematic elimination of being able to searc by e-mail.

No, I guess not, because I took other key words from my auctions for a description search last night, and only those that are still pictured came up.

OH HECK! Lord only know what their doing over there to muck things up.

Yup...I use my email. Funny, when I created it, I tried to use a unique word instead, but I could never get anything but my email to work.

Only half of my Personal Gallery is coming up...still!

I'm so SICK OF THIS!
Now I'm down to 12 out of 40 in "MY PERSONAL PICTURE GALLERY".

Listen up everyone.
This is effecting YOU.
It has to do with Description Search.

What are they doing over there?

They are systematically eliminateing Description search ability.

Now I'm down to 12 out of 40 in "MY PERSONAL PICTURE GALLERY"

That happened to me several months ago, I had 15 items in my personal gallery link, then 14, 11, then 7. That is when I stopped paying for the gallery option. I wasn't prepared to put the 'search term' in the auction title and the descriptive search was so flaky that I just gave up.

The gallery option might be worth the price if you have a "Personal Gallery Link" but without it... I wouldn't pay 5¢ for it much less 25¢.

uaru,
That is just about what I told them in my inquiry to eBay about this situation.
There gallery is not worth a plug nickle if I can't use it for "My Gallery".

By the way, at this moment in time eBay seems to be DOWN!

*sigh*

pay more get less!

I haven't been able to download anything into Ebud for 2 DAYS - either just keeps freezing when trying to access data, or tells me the Ebay Seller Search is not available. Don't know who to blame! However, I downloaded a trial of AuctionTrakker, thinking I would try that and it couldn't access the Ebay Seller pages either, so I'm beginning to think it is not EBud and AuctionTrakker but EBAY that has the problem!

Completed search is not working for me. I tried a number of things and kept getting the "sorry no items" reply, even when I put in things like Roseville and jadite, anyone else have this problem?
