I found a Madam Alexander molded hair vinyl doll today. It is in great shape but needs some cleaning on the eyes. It also has grimy dirt on it and I don't want to do any damage to it. What can I clean the doll with to remove the dirt and grime but not do damage to the doll? Also if there are any Madam Alexander Doll experts out there this is a little boy with big blue eyes. It has the hole in the mouth for a bottle and wets. Very cute doll. Can anyone help me?

Some of Adult Novelty sellers actually have a special soap designed for rubber, jelly, vinyl, latex etc.
Some household cleaners break down those kinds of materials.
If you only have one doll don't bother with the special soap. Liquid dish soap might be good enough.
If you are a collector/seller and need to clean a few or if you have rubber halloween/costume type masks anything in that line then it might be a good investment.

DONT USE SOAP AND WATER!! I made that mistake myself. A doll restorer told me a trick on cleaning them. Use light hand lotion that is water soluable. Cleans 'em and protects the doll too. Also works on the composite faces of the old dolls I learned too late! I hope this helps.
