Hello all. I bought a new digital camera for taking pictures for my ebay auctions, and I am at a total loss of how to run this camera. I have a cheap camera now, and the set up was easy and the software was so easy to use. I cant even seem to get the software loaded, or figure out how to get the pics on my harddrive. This camera is a Fuji 2400. Is it always this difficult to figure out? Any imput would be appreciated. Oh and one more thing, is the Sony Mavica easier to use? I am about ready to pack this one up and take it back to the store!

you should have software that came with the camera for uploading your pictures.

I don't know anything about the Fuji, but it shouldn't be that hard to learn. I have a polaroid 640, and I recently upgraded to an olympus 490. Which I love!!
My uncle has the sony mavica you speak of. It seems really simple to use. He likes it alot.
If it is giving you that much trouble to just load the software then I don't know if I would keep it either.
Both the cameras I have, the cheap one, and the not so cheap one, are really easy to figure out, the software the uploading to the pc and everything.
I know I didn't help you at all! I am sorry!
Good luck!!

I have Sony Mavica FD83, I think it's one step newer than a FD73, and if I could figure it out anybody can. I like the photo edit software better than what came with the computer also.

Hi, Julie:
Add me to the list of happy Mavica users. I bought and FD85 about two months ago and it has revolutionized my auctions. Using it couldn't be simpler and the floppy is a dream - no cables! Highly recommended!

I would have to repeat exactly what KYNA said above. I love my SONY MAVICA... I have the FD73, bought it last April or May. Love the floppy disks & not have to use any cables, special adapters, etc...
JMHO!

I love my Sony. I have the FD90 Mavica and I haven't turned my scanner on in 6 months! Using the floppy for photo taking is so easy and simple. Still a few features I haven't mastered and I've found that finding the perfect lighted place can be a pain, but overall this is a great camera. Much better than the Casio I had before because you had to connect it to the computer to download photos.

High Cheers to the Sony MVC....I have the 88 and highly recommend it....I agree with all that has been said above about it....For some help on learning your software...you might want to look them up on line and see if there is any support inwhich you could email them or even get an 800 number to call tech. support.....It might be worth a look to see what is said at their site...maybe a printable help file or something....Good luck to you...and if you end up taking it back take a good look at "all" thats out there before you settle....

I have a Fuji DX-10 that I bought in Jan 2000. I know that if you call Fuji they have better good support. I called them a few times and got help because I didn't know anything about it. The software is Picture Shuttle and Adobe PhotoDelux Ver. 2.0 so I don't know if yours is the same.
My camera is pretty simple and the software is too, once you figure it all out.
Let me know if you need help, but I think it might be different because they change all of this so often.
If I remember right there wasn't much help on the web site.
If I could have afforded it I would have bought the Sony Mavica that uses a floppy disk. I have seen some great photos in ad and e-mailed and that is the camera they usually have. I think they were about $400 then. Pam

I love my Mavica 73 - ArcSoft Camera Studio comes with it. I really like it a lot - it is so easy to use. Also I have called Sony with some questions and have gotten good answers.

I have a Fugi FinePix1400 Zoom that came with PhotoDeluxe Home Edition. I already knew how to use PDHE and thought that the camera was easy to learn. If your Fugi is your first digital camera AND you're learning any photo software for the first time, yeah, the learning curve will be steep. Put the camera aside and try it again when you're not feeling stressed!
