I'm about to give up on my first really bad bidder. I've done the NPB alert, the contact message from ebay, the multiple messages, the stewing and fretting. I'm giving this guy only this weekend to shape up (it's been a month with no reply to my original winning bidder message!). What I'll do is file for the FVF return and all that stuff and I want to wait until the last possible moment to leave really rotten feedback (and when would that be? I can't find this info anywhere); would he be able to reply anyway with his own bad feedback? I'm at my wit's end, with no negs yet on my record, and I want to keep it that way, of course. Advice?

"I want to wait until the last possible moment to leave really rotten feedback "

All that will prove is that you are a vindictive, immature person. Leave a factual negative and get it over with.

And there is no set time limit.

Why do you waste so much time with a deadbeat? After a couple of weeks if you do not hear from them, relist, File for your fees and move on, end of story. You will feel so much better.

Well, best of luck in figuring out when that is anymore. The old 30 day limit gave way to the 60 day limit which has given way to "as long as it's in the ebay database" which has been reported by some to be upwards of 120 days.

Now, do you REALLY want to sit around for 120 days worrying about it, or give them the neg & move on?

I agree with what's been said, esp. gs4.

Fortunately, I've had only a few of these, but on the no response to my initial EOA, I send a 2nd notice just a day or at most two after the first and then don't wait a minute past what time limits ebay imposes before filing for FVF and relisting when it suits me.

These things ARE going to happen, and they may happen with more frequency in the days ahead. I don't get in a snit about it, I don't fret, I don't hope or wish they'll magically turn into something they're not or continue to harass them -- I just deal with it as the part of the biz it is. It's about the only thing I don't fret about but for some reason, including that I don't get many, it's just not something that upsets me all that much.

YUP! You all are right; I was too hasty. (It's been a long day.) Thanks! --Adele
