The majority of items I sell on Ebay are quality glass & pottery, and need to be bubble wrapped WELL for safe shipping. In three years, my professional reputation and feedback is consistant; packed well. I recently purchased a 500 foot roll (25" wide) of LARGE bubble wrap from my local store and was advised the price had gone up from $52.60 to $63.40. Today I went to re-order a 500 foot roll of SMALL bubble wrap and was advised the price had gone up to $92.00 and change. The last time I purchased it (approximately six months ago) it was $60.00 and change. Is this normal inflation, or is there someplace I can still get 500 feet rolls at a decent price? I live in Maine and maybe I just don't have access to a good deal on this needed product. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you. LMM

You can get 600' of bubble wrap through an ebay seller for $43.95 and that includes shipping. Try looking up the Ebay ID:gatorpack.
Edited to add: That is for 12" wide

I buy all my bubble mailers from Bubblefast.com, they also sell bubble wrap by the roll, I just checked they have 300' rolls for 16.80 plus 6.25 shipping. They are great and FAST! Good luck!

Shipping is usually the biggest factor with large rolls of bubble wrap and peanuts. The closer to you, the better.
Try Chiswick. They are in Mass. It might save you on the freight cost.

If you live in a large enough city, check the yellow pages for mailing supplies or box manufacturers.
I buy overrun boxes very cheaply & have gotten huge rolls of bubblewrap for great prices since I don't have to pay shipping.

I also use BubbleFast, on ebay, for bubble wrap and mailers. They ship immediately and take PayPal etc. and have been very happy with them for the past year.

A good source for bubble wrap, peanuts, and boxes are factories/plants, many of them throw out out thousands of pounds of this stuff every month.
That's how I get my supplies, its good for the plant because it saves them in disposal fees, it saves me several thousand dollars in purchasing this stuff and its recycling.
I run my business as a Green business, so I'm always looking for environmentally friendly ways of doing business. I'm even recyclying/restoring the 100 year old building I use for the business. It was a very neglected building that needed some attention, but in the long run this will save me thousands in rent, the improvements are tax write offs.
Why buy new?

Thank you, thank you.....Your recommendations are very helpful and I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. I also hope it has been useful for other sellers. So many of you use 12" bubble, so now I am questioning why I'm using 25" bubble and will need to research this further. Thank you again for being there. LMM

All bubble wrap is not created equal ::sigh::
I have often purchased bubble wrap thru officemax.com, and received a box branded "Mail-Away" with a 175" x 12" roll of 1/8" bubbles for around $20.00 (I don't have a receipt in front of me).
A few days ago, I was in Office Depot and saw their self-branded bubble wrap whic was TWO 175" x 12" rolls of 1/8" bubbles for $34.99 ... thought it was a great deal. WRONG! This bubble wrap is so flimsy ... it takes two sheets to get anywhere near the same protection as with a single sheet of the "Mail-Away" branded bubble wrap.

We use 60cm wide by 75m long "small" bubble - I never bothered to check the size, but they must be around 1/4". Comes in at around £13 a roll -around 20 bucks to you guys.
We do try to recycle where poss, but storage is not an easy option for us (lock-up shop).
Thx

I use shippingsupply.com. on eBay. Their large bubble wrap (I too work with glass) is $6.50 plus $4.30 s/h for a 75' roll, the smaller bubble is even cheaper. My big problem is storage! Where do you put a 5' tall bag of peanuts, 2 4' tall rolls of small bubble and a 175' monster roll?

Don't know if this would work for you but I got a very heavy, thick dowel & inserted heavy hook eyes in each end.
I put this through the roll of bubble wrap, the suspended it from the ceiling the basement using hookeyes in the 2x4s & a heavy duty chain.
Now when I need bubblewrap, I just reach up & pull it down. As the roll gets smaller, I let the chain down. Meanwhile, it stays out of my way but cleaner & easier to get.
For peanuts, I use a rolling garbage can. Then I can move it to wherever it's needed & it keeps creepies from getting into the peanuts.
