That's the beauty of this business--even stuff that absolutely nobody wants, somebody wants."
That's so true.
I sell books and recently found a first edition that sells for big
bucks. Then the publisher hit on a new idea for a collectible when he published
the book in paperback with three different colored covers. So all the collectors are buying at least three copies of the book in order to have a copy of each color!
The book is the Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers.

How about the TV Guide "collector" editions? Usually they do a set of 4 different covers for a particular week. But a few months back they did a set of, like, 24 (or was it 36?) different covers spotlighting the supporting characters on The Simpsons. I'm a pretty fierce collector, of Simpsons especially, but even I had to say oh puh-leazze!.

The Onion is HYSTERICAL, never fails to crack me up
You want a real laugh - take a look at the April issue of Reader's Digest in the "You Said It" letters to the editor. Someone with less than a full deck actually took the Digest to task for writing about Harry POtter; she quoted The Onion about the millions of kids who have joined the Church of Satan because of Harry Potter.
