Have been using AW for about a year. Always had trouble with annoying little bugs, but since the price was $0 I just sucked it up. As an example, I have two auction stuck in my pending auctions that have been in "proccessing" for 8 months! I've written three emails requesting AW to fix them, but they are still there. Now that AW has pulled a Paypal on us and started charging, I've investigated the other options. Andale is where I'm leaning towards moving. They charge a higher FVF than AW, but they have one KEY advantage - they allow sellers to set up "fixed price" stores"(FPS) that link to your Ebay auctions. So when a buyer gets to the Andale automated checkout, he is offered the chance to purchase more items from your FPS. Purchases made from the FPS are subject to Andale's FVF, but EBAY gets NADA. So the total % FVF for Andale FPS is lower than the listing/FVF of AW and Ebay as we AW users are paying now. If AW offered this service I wouldn't consider moving. The sellers I have spoken with who use Andale LOVE it, so really my questions for everybody are;
*Have you ever used Andale?
*What problems have you experienced?
Thanks in advance to all who reply (if AW doesn't censor this thread!)

You will find that many buyers dislike automated checkouts.

Personally, I do not bid on Andale auctions and exit the screen as soon as I see one of their templates.

As primarily a buyer, I like the feel of their templates...very professional and easy to read with good information flow...

As I am a watch hobbyist, I pulled up an example while posting this...I was amazed how quickly the main page loaded as well as the blow-up of the item.

I know you're looking for seller input but thought you'd like to hear from a potential buyer. I probably screen 800-1000 auctions a week and a quick loading, easy-to-read page is important to me...

That's my .02...

Pat

BTW -158,521 auctions with that word in it as of this posting...

I HATE ANDAlE!!!
The auto checkout sucks, THE FVF Is way too high and Last time I used them they were out for 5 days.
The system goes down and no pics appear way too much.
BTW if your auctions were processing for months why not cancel processing and restart.
I couldn't imagine an 8 month error.

This has been discussed recently. Just search the archives. But, be forewarn, it is kind of brutal.

Fixed price stores are in beta testing right now at AW, and they're looking great. Expect to see us roll them out shortly.

AuctionWatch is committed to delivering a complete selling solution to all of our customers.

JRB3:
You can't delete auctions from the pending area while the status is reported as "processing" - I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I would have deleted them months ago if I could have!

Laud1:
What has been discussed here? Andale? FPS? And why do you say its "brutal?

Mark:
Thats an exciting development - I can't wait for more info on AW's FPS feature!

So when a buyer gets to the Andale automated checkout, he is offered the chance to purchase more items from your FPS.

Many bidders (probably most bidders) will never make it to the Andale checkout. They won't even make it far enough to place a bid. When they click on your auction and see the word Andale they'll break a finger trying to click the back buttom ASAP. And if you spring the Andale crap on them in the EOA they'll ignore it and email you for payment instructions (WITHOUT using Andale). Or worse, they'll blow off the deal entirely. Do you REALLY wanna go through this mess?

And no, I'm NOT exaggerating.

All I know is that when a pic takes forever to load, sure enough, it's Andale. I wouldn't want to use a check-out either.

Brutal because many buyers will not buy from Andale sellers. Sellers have problems just go to their boards and read. We chose AW because of that reason and the promise that fixed prices stores were soon to come.

Bigshack, I am not a big time buyer, but I also when seeing a auction using Andale will not bid, it does not matter what the auction may be, I don't want to use there system. I would give use of Andale long and careful consideration.

Just search the archives for discussion on Andale. It is often heated and often discussed. Seems like you either like Andale or hate it. Not much middle ground.

I personally (as a seller) would have problem paying/using a service which is hated by so many buyers. But that is just a personal obsrvation.

I am not sure there is a need for another Andale pro/bashing discussion. Just look at AW archive. There is ample coverage already on the topic.

Can someone direct me to an example of someone using an Andale listing.

I'm just curious what they look like.

Do a title and description search on the word "andale" - you'll find thousands to look at.
