The topic should have read Yahoo auctions.
I noticed ever since Yahoo started to charge, my ebay rate of deadbeat bidders ahve gone up,and many of the deadbeats have a yahoo email, or really bad attitiude like "oh just re-submit it, it doesn't cost anything" attitude? so I looked up their user name in yahoo auction and sure enough they either had a overall negative feedback (like -2), or had like 40 positive, BUT had 18 negatives (basically someone who would have been a suspended user had it been ebays)? I am not discriminating against Yahoo users, or anyone with yahoo emails, just noticed this pattern. Or is this just me?

There has been a great pickup in the deadbeat bidders for about the past 4-6 weeks. I blame PayPal for making it so impersonal that people don't care. About the only personal thing I have seen lately is a pervert in Texas who sent me a nude picture and won't leave me alone. I don't think it is as much a problem of Yahoo as all the new people coming onto Ebay. Also, I am seeing that the glory days are over and people aren't spending like they were due to the economy. I think some people are getting cold feet after bidding, whereas they used to just hand out a ton of money for the silliest stuff. I used to think that the people who are paying crazy prices woulnd't pay, yet they did. Now there are no really crazy prices (just as well) and even a moderately high item is liable to not be paid for. I am getting about a 30% deadbeat rate lately.

I used to sell on yahoo. I sold mostly cds and ballcards. I didn't have hardly any "deadbeats" until AFTER they started making everyone sign up with a credit card (verification). After that, my sales plummeted (because most had no credit cards and paid me with either cash, check, or money order)and the few bids I got were mostly from deadbeats. Then yahoo started fees. Well I was hardly saling anything to begin with and to pay hundreds a month for listing fees to not sale anything would've been stupid. So then I heard of bidville...but bidville is just as slow as yahoo. I've only had 2 sales since January. I think that's mostly because people don't know about the place yet. So that's how I ended up saling on ebay, because I figured if I were to pay fees at least do it where there are buyers. I've had about ten auctions close (my very first batch on ebay)and only 1 didn't have a bidder. A big box of girls clothes I stuck on there for curiousity(I had planned on taking it to goodwill)sold for enough to cover all of my fees for the past months and still have a little profit off the clothes (since I was going to give them away in the first place). So now I've put a second batch up. Almost everyone who bid has paid for the first batch, except for a few who told me they sent out a money order monday. I've not had anyone not contact me after I sent out emails to the winning buyer. And they all contacted me within 48 hrs, most within a few minutes. This is a whole lot better than yahoo.
There are some rip off artists here on ebay that I ran across in yahoo and bidville. I stay clear of them. For some reason, yahoo seems to protect their scammers and they kick off anyone who complains. I had a woman sell me something at yahoo and then she went and resold it here on ebay. She was ripping people off left and right over there and yahoo kept deleting the negatives whenever anyone rated her bad. She still has a lot of negatives now. I had checked on it a couple months ago and every one of the recent negatives she had, she resold the item on ebay after taking the buyer's money over there. She has glowing feedback on ebay. I didn't realize when I checked all this stuff that the auctions here disappear after so long, so now the links to the auctions don't work anymore but I still know to stay away from this one.

I stopped selling on Yahoo! because the deadbeats way out numbered the buyers that actually completed our auction transactions.
In my opinion, the site is a complete and utter waste of time.
