I have had a buyer of a movie claim that "initially the video tape looked good but upon further examination was bunched around the spool". This was a new movie that I watched one time. There was nothing wrong with it.

Oh that is a joy that he found such a wonderful movie and will be getting it essentially for free.

I was going to wait until all of my stuff sold at half.com to stop selling there, but in light of this loss I'm going through deleting everything left.

All anyone has to do is buy something on there and claim it arrived in such horrid condition and then your money is gone along with your item. There is no way to prove the person a liar in such circumstances.

I went ahead and removed my credit card information so they could only remove it from what they owe me. Half.com is supposed to send sellers a check at least once a month for the things they sell, but I haven't received any yet. Another good reason to stop selling on there. Their customer services kept giving me the runaround saying a check would be issued. Well, 2 months and no check??

I'd rather pay ebay listing fees and risk an item not sell than to get ripped off like this.

This happens on ebay too...

If you're concerned that this will happen again, mark your stuff.

It's different on ebay though. With half.com they don't even contact you for your side and you don't get to look at the item. They just take the money from your funds. You have no recourse because half.com will not listen to you. Ebay gives you more protection because they at least let you give your side.

If you've removed your credit card information, you won't make any sales, anyway. There's a notice somewhere (I think on the inventory management page) that if you don't have a valid, current credit card on file, your books will not show up for sale. They'll be in your inventory, but not on the sale pages.

This was the reason I quit selling on Half.Com I got tired of people lying about what they received.I have over a 500 feedback on E-Bay and never had one complaint on my videos. On Half.com I had 5 people give me a bad rating, and lied about the condition of the videos, all which were new and had been viewed one time by myself.I think these people do this because they know you can't contact them. They can stick Half.Com It isn't worth the hassle.
