I'm not looking for advice here, just thought you all would get a tickle or some insight out of this one.
I had two auctions running, both identical; pics, description wording, etc. They are for a certain type of sword that you put together in the middle, with a button release. They are not switchblades of any sort and the blade is not even sharpened. The entire piece assembled is over 6 feet tall. Not exactly something you could easily conceal as a unit.
Apparently Ebay found one of the auctions and decided to end it early. They cited CA law that it is illegal to sell "disguised" knives and swords in their state, so it's a no-no on Ebay. I did check the prohibited and questionable items lists before I listed, but this item did not seem to apply. I do wonder why they didn't find and end the other one though if, as I suspect, they were doing keyword searches as a way to find such items listed. Both auctions had been up for over 24 hours.
I have been selling this item on ebay for well over a year without complaint, either from Ebay or from anyone else. Perhaps a bored Ebay staffer? The auction was pulled at 1:23 AM, Pacific time.
I plan on changing (deleting) what I believe to be the keywords and giving them another go. I revised the one auction that they left up to get rid of the keywords, so we will see what happens.
My only complaint is the usual one; inconsistancy. If they are going to police the site, they should do so completely and accurately, not in the haphazzard way that seems to be business as usual.

Yep, happened to me too.
About 6 months ago (or so) I had up 4 identical auctions for Isomil baby formula coupons. They cancelled one staing the usual VERO excuse. But they didn't cancel the other 3. Plus there were over 30 other Isomil coupon auctions running at that time, They didn't cancel those either.
