If someone sends you a credit card payment via Billpoint, when you clearly state you accept them only through Paypal, do you return the $? Also, wonder if the credit card fee is returned to the seller? I accept e-checks through Billpoint, credit card through Paypal. Kind of roasts me, this was a $1.75 book (what percentage is 35 cents of that?)

I NEVER return money to a customer unless it's a refund situation. My time and relative low level of stress are worth much more than 35¢. Of course if the payment is short by a large margin, I'll ask for more money to make up the difference. If it's short by a few cents I just move on as it isn't worth it to spend more time and aggravation chasing a quarter.

Money "in the till" is spendable. Money returned is not and there is no guarantee that you will receive a replacement payment. Just MHO.

I've done that. I absolutely never accept Paypal. It's not worth the chance of having my account frozen and not being able to access the money.

Believe that if you return the money and they do actually pay you via PayPal, you'll end up paying two fees! You thought the profit margin was thin before?!

Take the money, send the item, and hope for bidders who can actually read a TOS in the future.

Ain't life grand?
