I bought some kitchen stuff from an ebay seller. Some of the item was a kitchen knife. It arrived with blood on it and the whole box it was in in the big box was filled with live leeches. They were just crawling around and I thought it was gross so I complained to the seller and he responded that he was not responsible for items damaged in the mail since I did not purchase insurance. He warned me against giving him a negative since he can have me thrown off of ebay if I do. He told me I had to give him a positive since I received what I paid for and that ebay would kick me off if I don't. Should I give this seller a negative anyway? Or should I give him a positive like he said?

Positive feedback: Great seller! Even threw blood and some leeches in with my package!
Seriously, though, this seller sounds like he's threatening you with eBay suspension. I would forward all correspondence to Safe Harbor.

He cannot have you thrown off Ebay.
Report him to safeharbor for feedback extortion.
Keep his e-mails, and when you report him, be sure to send a copy of the mail with full headers on.
Neg him, but be prepared for a retalitory negative.

whisper,
At the bottom of virtually every eBay page are links to Announcements, Safe Harbor, etc. Click on the Safe Harbor link to get information and to email them.

Turn on the message headers and forward to [email protected]. Use the message title "feedback extortion".

headers? does the email turn on when you open the letter or is there a button to push?
How do you leave feedback? Do you send that to this safe harbor place?

lovetosell,
Me a troll? I think if you check my posts, you'll find that I rarely start threads, I rarely get in pi**ing contests with anyone, and I'm usually very polite to people when I post.
If you're saying that I got suckered by a troll, then ok, color me suckered.

Sadie, I apologize if I made it seem YOU were the troll. That was not my intention, I was just using your comment as a spring board. I'm really sorry. It's very obvious who the troll is...and it ain't you.

To really have made this *story* fun you should have included a picture of the leeches and invited the seller. You'd have had a troll post worthy of a nomination for a golden bridge award.

Don't know about leeches, but I buy African Nightcrawlers and they come in the mail! It's just the neatest thing to open the box and have all those 6 inch worms come tumbling out all knotted up in a little peat moss. They kinda look like baby snakes since they are almost the size of your little finger! Getting them untangled can be a problem though and I have "divided" more than a few in the attempt!
I've only had one batch arrived damaged. They were shipped in the dead of summer. All I received was a box full of yucky gooey stuff! I contacted the seller to find out what was going on. Where were my worms???? After several emails we finally arrived at the same conclusion...the goo was what was left of my worms. Wouldn't you know, they weren't insured!
PS: sure doesn't take long to get a new ID does it?????
