Hello All,

this question probably has been asked a 100 times.
I have some militaria from WWII to list. Since Ebay is stepping out, to what auction does one go to? Where do all the dealers in militaria go to now? Is there allready a fixed auction as sequence for Ebay? Or is everybody still seeking?
Thank you for responding.
Frits

I had some WWII photographs that did well on ebay, but flopped on one of those (strictly) military item sites.

Either not enough shoppers there, or they were reluctant to bid on a new (to that site) seller's items.

Better luck to you than I had with it.

Try www.epier.com it is having great success already with the new categories that eBay banned....check it out, here's a link to the ww2 category that is not even a week old http://www.epier.com/Listings.asp?CatID=5,35,2&Page=1

Hello Frits!

There is no question that the big auction sites have the most visibility on the Net. People tend to stick with what is comfortable. However, that does not mean larger sites are more qualified to serve the needs of specialty collectors and sellers.

Auction Arms is good for guns and weapons.

epier....forget it.

Several months prior to eBays ban of Third Reich items I started buying and listing on Militaria Collectibles Auction Haus. Yes, a Niche site for only Militaria items.

In essence, specialty sites are uniquely qualified to meet the needs of collectors in a specific category. MCAH caters to a community of Militaria lovers, and enthusiasts who come to bid, buy, sell, and talk about their Militaria treasures.

They appreciate the fact that they find exactly what they came to see: Militaria! There is no danger of being overwhelmed by scores of other categories and auctions. With fewer but more targeted auctions, collectors get to what they want fast, and sellers' items get excellent exposure.

They can be found at:

http://www.militaria-collectibles.com

Moreover, they do not support "Multiple Registrations" or IDs and have software running to prevent these types of activities!

They are also quick to rid their site of "Deadbeat" bidders.

Hope this helps!

That's the one, Auction Haus.

Why could I sell the heck out of my authentic vintage WWI photos on ebay, but couldn't get any action there, if it's so great?

Not meant to be inflammatory, but why is that?

Oh, and everyone liked the photos and most left good feedback. At least I didn't get complaints on them, so you know they couldn't have been bad.

bad spelling...

Hello loosecannon!

Ah ha! So those couple of images were yours huh? And I do mean "couple"

To be fair with the Militaria Auction Haus, you only listed two or three items or pictures from what I remember.

You are like the majority of people that try to use other sites. You list one or two items, they do not sell, then you bad mouth the site. Take a close look at the listing versus sales ratios!

I brought up your sales on the bay, and HEY, you do have a large number of unsold items! But why is that?

I will contact Militaria Collectibles Auction Haus on your behalf and see if they would like to respond to your comments.

Go take a close look at their site now. I see many bids being placed.

Unlike yourself, I and others have patience and will work with the specialized sites.

Hey buddy! I said my comments were not meant to be inflammatory. Did I not?

What in the world are you talking about "you do have a large number of unsold items". MY ASS! I've got a good sell-through rate on ebay. I doubt you even know what my ebay ID is.

Yes, it's true that I listed 2 or 3 items on Auction Haus and decided to give up.

I need sales, not listings spread all over just to look good.

As far as bringing Auction Haus over here, go ahead. Who cares?

... Looks to me like German WWII items are doing pretty good on epier. Before you decide to "forget it" I'd click on over there and give it a look...

OK tolz

Out of 106 closed auctions of mine that still show up, 89 have sold. That's good enough for a 83.9% sell-through rate. I think you'll agree that this is not "a large number of unsold items" as you put it.

You don't know about me and my business. All you know about me is that I once listed two or three items on the site that you're pushing. Big deal.

Moderators? What are you going to do about this jerk?

And loosecannon is not me on ebay.

Who gives a rat's a$$ that militaria is not my expertise?

You probably don't know anything but.

Hello Joice!

If you would have taken the time to review the post, Mr. loosecannons eBay handle was displayed with ***** at the end to protect his ID. Kindly suggest your read the posts before you hit the delete key.

As I stated before the moderator acted out of haste:

I average 80% of total sales when listing on Auction Haus. That means 20% does not sell the first time. I simply re-post the items at a future date which does in fact result in sales. I do not bad mouth sites if I do not sell 3 items!

In accordance with the AW rules, I have invited Auction Haus to respond to this posting by Mr. loosecannon.

As this is an ebay forum (and they rule the world) I will respectfully bow out of this conversation.

I don't care. You don't post someones ebay ID without their permission.

And I am not loosecannon on ebay for your information.

Yeah, bring Auction Haus over here so they can see how your are doing representing them.

Hey, I think I'll do it myself.
