We just got an Epson Perfection 1240u Scanner.......We have installed the software including the photo deluxe 4.0.....I can scan but how do you size the photos?
I am used to my HP scanner and when i scan i resize them and it shows the size in KB's...I know that I size them usually Between 70-100 Kb.....Nowhere on here do i see a size....Anyone know what Im doing wrong?
It sounds like the HP scanner you used to use had an unusual (and handy!) feature, to show you the file size (KB) rather than the image size, which is given in dimensions (so many pixels wide, by so many pixels high).
You may have to get used to doing it a different way. You can resize the pictures by feel, save them, and then go to Windows Explorer and look at the file size as it is listed (next to the file's name). You probably can also find "Properties" somewhere in your scan toolbar, and get the file size for the photo that's active in your window at that time.
Your file size is affected not only by the actual size of the image (as you see it on the screen), but also by the degree of compression you choose.
70 KB is a pretty big file, in terms of downloading time for the person waiting to bid on your auction. 100KB is very big. There are several things you can do to get it down to around 40-70 KB.
