I have a buyer who received her WBN (on the day auction closed) with the standard "due in 10 days", etc, and she writes back...I'll be mailing your MO out on xx-xx-xxxx, which is precisely the day the payment is DUE. What would an experienced seller do in this case? I am not going to refuse her payment, but...I did say due by X, not send by x. I guess I'm being grumpy today.....but how do others handle this situation?

I usually wait 2 weeks and then I send a reminder. Most pay. Those who don't get a NPB and negative (depending on my mood).
It is amazing how the late payers always want their item sent lickety split and feedback post immediatley.

My guess is that the day it is due is probably payday. Annoying I know, but some bidders are like that. I would also wait two weeks and then send a reminder. That is probably about all you can do about it. :0)

Was it Confederate Memorial Day which is celebrated in early May here in the south or maybe late April. Oh well, it's one of those days.
All state offices close, but for some reason I think the post office stays open. I'm not sure of that though.
Sue, just take the money and smile. 10 days is kind of restrictive when you figure you can't depend too much on the old post office anymore. I realize she says she's sending the money on that date, but take it anyway and smile all the way to the bank. People sometimes just don't get it.

My auctions also state 10 days, I NPB on 10, along with a personal e-mail from me stating, gee I haven't got rec'd your payment yet, and you'll be getting a note for ebay..yada yada. I drop it if I get the payment before the 20th day but if still no $$ then I FVF and neg.
I try to avoid holidays, but if I forget and list auctions ending to close to a holiday, well, gee, Credit cards still work and I take all of them via Billpoint, PayPal, AND telephone.

Sue, I would have to send an email back politely saying "Thanks very much. I will promptly ship your item about 10 days after I receive your payment."
