I tried to view an auction and a program called Comet Cursor tried to download.
I'm not sure what this software does, but I wasn't very happy about it trying to download automatically. I was told I need to make sure that my browser's security settings are set to its highest setting. Could someone tell me how to do that?
Thanks!

Thanks for the Link.
The seller has five pages of auctions and they all appear to have an auto download for comet cursor attached. I DID report it to safeharbor. Their the ones who told me to check the security settings on my browser!
Here is the reply from safeharbor:
"I have reviewed the information that you have sent in regarding an item that appeared to violate our Site Interference guidelines. At this point I do not have enough evidence to show that the member has violated any eBay rules.
Currently we do allow sellers to use JavaScript and HTML to enhance their item description. This includes the use of Comet Cursors within the auction description. The only exception to this would be if the JavaScript or HTML is violating other listing policies or is being used with malicious intent.
Comet Cursors use a technology called Active X. Active X controls are little programs that are created and downloaded to a computer and incorporated into the browser of the viewer. One of the many uses of Active X controls is to enhance the viewing of a web page. In order to prevent the download of such programs, you may want to make sure that your browser's security settings are set to its highest setting. Therefore, no action will be taken at this time."

Hi greatlakes. Well, that answer from SafeHarbor is very lame. CometCursor IS malicious and should not be allowed anywhere on eBay's site. I would send in another complaint and maybe you'll get lucky and have it read by a competent person. Or maybe not.
Be sure you have disabled the Installation of Desktop Items in your internet Security settings and I also recommend disabling install on demand in the Advanced section.
