I bought two rings yesterday one is marked 18k HGE. The other one just has 18k imprinted with some symbols that are worn behind them. What does the HGE mean?

Right-o HGE = Heavy Gold Electroplated. The other could be just halmarks after the 18k. Can you describe the symbols on the second one?

I just had my husband look at it with good eyes it looks like GE or GO I guess neither one is real. If they are older is there a possibility the stones are real? One is amethyst with diamond like stones, the other onyx. I'll catch up on the answer later thanks for responding, have to go see my new niece.

You've probably guessed it alread GE= Gold Electroplated. Could they be genuine stones? Possbily. Is it likely? No.

Oh well, I guess I got taken by a sweet old lady she wouldn't go down on the price because 'they were 18k gold, good rings, just too small' I need to carry my magnifying glass. At least the mink jacket I bought from her for 5.00 is real. Thanks again.

A mink for $5.00? I wouldn't shake it too hard, a flea collar may fall out.
