I just got my first digital camera. the olympus d-460. They gave me a huge discount for missing parts. I am missing the thing that goes from the camera to the computer to transfer photos. I know this is called a serial cable, but is it special since it goes with a digital camera?

I don't even use that cable..much too slow (I have an Olympus, also..the 2020). I bought (about $26.00) a smart media disk ready (san disk) from buy.com. It works like an extra hard drive to read your media card. It plugs into a USB port. It looks like an extra mouse. You put your little floppy disk in (smart media card), and point to it either in a program, or through My Computer, and immediately you have your pictures. Much faster than the cable hookup.
